Hi Cirrus - until a personal experience last winter, Ive have said 'dont be silly' But last winter, I had an AWFUL sore throat, couldnt swallow, everythin tatsed funny etc etc so off I went to the docs. she took a look and said 'You have tonsillitis'. Now, I should point out here (as I did to the doc) that I had my tonsils removed 20years ago BUT apparently theres still some residual tonsil flesh there and thats what got infected! Weird, huh?!

I have heard of cases where part of the tonsil had been incompletely removed by accident and had to be removed later. I am not sure if that qualifies as a second case of tonsillitis or more of the first case.

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.

Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

If the tonsils were removed completely, no. However, you can still have an infection in that general area.

Tonsillitis... literally, irritation of the tonsils...

Can they get irritated if they're out? Maybe, but I don't think you'd feel it.... they're gone!!! (you can, however, still have a sore throat from Sinus drainage, or a strep infection. Your Lymph nodes can swell causing discomfort in the throat. Why take out your tonsils if you can still get tonsillitis?

tonsillitis is inflammation of lymph glands in the mouth that accumulate bacteria & maybe candida albicans which can be triggered by one or a couple foods which weaken resistance to fever causing cooties.even after the tonsils are removed ,inflammation can recur elsewhere.the answer is no and yes

I theory no, however it is possible for you to regrow your tonsils and then to get tonsilitis again. So in that respect you could have had your tonsils out and still get tonsilitis.

I don't think so because your tonsils wouldnt be there to get infected. You can get a sore throat though!
