I've noticed in this section that a lot of Christians seem to think that we are the only life in the universe. That sounds like a pretty arrogant assumption to me.

And if there is life on other planets. We should assume that they don't have the same religions that we do....So does that mean they are going to hell, since they don't believe in the Christian god?

To Nunoyvgvna Awi: You're wasting your time typing all this. I never said anything about our Solar system. I said the universe.
I didn't say anything about humans or organisms, or anything of the sort. I simply asked about life on other worlds believing in the Christian God. I have known too many Christians who say that everyone of other religions are bound for hell.
By they way, the quote of scripture at the end of your post, is different than the one I've heard. I've been told that those who have not heard of God will go to hell. It is this that made me leave the church. Oh, and I grew a brain too.

well think logically.....and just look around. Is there life on any of the other 9 planets just in our solar system? No? Yet there are over a billion types of life on Earth.

I use to think that there was life out there....till I just sat and gave it a basic thought. If there is life out there.....why isn't it on the other 9 planets? How can a mix of chemicals that start off as 1 celled creature that over millions of years later turns into us. Now repeat that exact process elsewhere....impossible. The laws of chance are even against this. The number of factors that had to take place to go from single cell to today is unreal....around 10 to the 1 millionth power. Well the universe is only 10 to the 280,000 power wide. So if the chance of man forming elsewhere is at least 5 times higher than just the width of the universe.....its just against the odds for another life form to form else where.

Now that is a human type form....what about other single cells or even plants? Well again....look around. Are there any on other planets out there on planets? Why not? Life landed on only the Earth? Over millions of years it never spread to the other planets? You can't say cause its due to oxygen cause we have plants and animals that live in over 200 degree water and breath off nitrogen that comes from underground vents in the ocean. So we know life can form under many forms, temperatures and conditions. Yet....we only find the billions of life forms on Earth, no where else.

Which argument sounds like an arrogant assumption now?

your add on:

The Bible says to those that do not hear his word, your life will be judged on how you act (meaning good and bad). So this covers anyone lost on an island, other planets as you speak of, etc.

From the Bible we understand that God created the world and everything upon it. The Bible record does not mention other worlds.

From the Bible record we also understand that God in His wisdom does not let everything be known to us.

So, from a purely personal point of view, the Bible contains all that we need to live here on Earth. Whether there are other worlds is a moot point. I'm open to the idea but not obsessed by it. I have enough trouble living here and avoiding sin than to be focused on what may or may not be elsewhere.

I have no idea whether or not there are other life forms in the universe, but I find that possibilty intriguing. I've been a SF fan too long not to enjoy considering what life on other planets might be like.

And yes, I am a Christian.

Actually my Christian religion teaches me just the opposite. That God created worlds without number, and there's definitely life more than just on Earth.

There is nothing that would stop us from believing in life beyond earth. I do not believe in Aliens from another planet. I do not know why I don't. I just don't.

It is believed by many Christians that there are other unfallen worlds, who are watching the goings-on on this planet with great interest.

Hey, Christians didn't come up with that, GOD did. He said that He created the stars and the heavens for our benefit alone. (Psalms 8)

Well, SOMEBODY is being arrogant, that is sure. I see no reason why angels and demons could not be interpretations of space aliens come to visit.
