no.. it's a state senator who's proposing a ban on cell phones and iPods when crossing the roads, because there have been three people in his district who have died because of this.
it's silly and won't stand up in legislation.

Yes it is true. I almost agree with it but it will not pass. I find people who talk on the cellphone in public places very annoying sometimes like when I am on a bus or in a Doctors office. It almost seems like they purposely talk louder so other can hear them. I can;t tell you how many times I have had a near miss with a pedestrian who is crossing the street against the light because they are in LaLa land either talking on the phone or tuned in to their iPods....I guess I am getting too old. I just don't see the need for all these gadgets and gizmo's.

at the same time as I comprehend the unfairness to those who smoke, i ought to say as an asthmatic and a non-smoker that I help the ban in some public places. i'm from the U. S. (don't understand once you're speaking about the united kingdom), so the following one can not smoke in eating places, in some bars on the discretion of the owner, and interior 20ft of a public progression. i for my area discover it authentic looking. at the same time as I comprehend it really is an dependancy, i think that the better limitations positioned on those who smoke the better effective. it really is like letting an alcoholic drink and be rowdy everywhere they're, they're going to for sure hardship someone with their dependancy as they're going to result others round them. Smoking is growing better taboo because each body is stricken via it. Frankly it stinks and it really is an extremely unattractive and undesirable habit. The better lives we may be able to save via banning it the better effective. Lung maximum cancers is a foul element to stay by skill of because it oral maximum cancers, emphasema, and persistent bronchitis. i have watched relatives wade through by skill of the unfavorable consequences of smoking and it really is unneccessary to die before some time only for a stupid ciggarette.

Next time you're driving down the road while watching adjacent cars that are swerving, running off the road, running YOU off the road, essentially increasing the chance of an accident by over 50%...think about it!
Add one pedestrian (not paying attention to their surroundings) preoccupied while listening to iPod or telephone;
With one driver (not paying attention to their surroundings) preoccupied while listening to iPod or telephone;
A recipe that equals disaster!
This just addresses iPod's and cellphones. Think about those reading books, sending text messages, typing on laptop computers while driving....things that make ya go "hmmmm."
Will the legislation pass? Doubt it...but makes you wonder why folks do stupid things to start with!

Actually, it's a state Senator who's introducing the bill. However, it's unlikely to pass. For one, it would be VERY hard to enforce.
