Please compare the Canon 30d and Canon Rebel XTi. I was told the Rebel has more features, but not as quality?

The 30D is a step up from the 400D. The 400D is a slightly newer model and as such it has 2 extras compared to the 30D:
* 10-megapixels vs 8
* a built-in dust reduction system (but you still need to clean the sensor yourself every now and again)
But the 400D is still an entry level camera. The 30D is a semi-pro model with a whole list of extras:
* 5 frames per second vs. 3
* metal body vs. plastic
* rated for 100,000+ shots before repairs vs. 50,000+
* several advanced features
* more and better controls to set the functions in a hurry vs. having to dive into menus to change the settings
* The 30D goes up to ISO 3200 vs. 1600
* A decent size grip vs. a tiny grip that will cramp your hand. But in all fairness, some people LIKE the small grip and consider the 400D's small size an advantage.
The bottom line is that they both take excellent pictures. Also, the 400D has the same AF system as the more expensive 30D, so if you don't need the 30D's advanced features, the 400D might be just as good.

Too put it in simple word. In Canon less digit mean better. so Canon 1D is the high end Canon 30D is the middle and the Canon 400D is the lowest DSLR class they produce.

The difference will be in speed, body rigidity and many more. The 400D is using more megapixel CCD however the processing is not as good as 30D. And the body is not as rigid as 30D.

The list very long but what I can tell you if you have the budget go with the 30D

Actually the biggest difference is that the Rebel xTi is 10.5 megapixels and the Canon 30d is 8.5. Compare for yourself
