Perhaps sometimes things have to be learned the hard way.

Though the suffering going around is way too much.

well considering we are the creations of god and not begotten sons. remember god does not beget nor was begotten. begotten=sired. god is not a human so god does not have intercorse. all god needs say is be and it is. so there for we are the creations of god not children, well with that said same basis on us humans. we have children, we want what is best for our children. of corse our children do not always see it that way. in turn they suffer. well what they percieve as suffering. this life is minute. some peoople suffer a great deal with in this life time and the reward is far greater then the riches of all the world. as a muslim we believe that 500 human years is a half of a day in allah's time. god never gives upon any soul a burden in which a soul can not carry. hense death. death is not always a punishment. at times it is a relief when you want to look at it lets say you have to suffer for 20 years. work really hard, break your back, study, what have you. but then you have worked hard enough to get a house, nice car, and wonderful family. wouldn't you say that it was all worth it in the end? it is the same for us on earth. you also have to remember it is not god that makes us suffer. it is the people around us and sometimes ourselves who make us suffer. god puts specific rules for humans to follow. when people do not follow the rules that god has given then we are causing our own selves pain and anguish. hense we as humans shold be working together. not against each other. this is a lession i do noit believe man kind will learn until the end of the world because there is to much evil and corruption. how ever in the midst of all this evil and corruption it is up to each individual who has a functioning brain to make the choices for ourselves weather we want to do good or bad. life is about choices. life is what we make of it..

I think we on the net are enjoying life. Those who suffer from hunger, lack of shelters, sickness, war, and the like are really bad and they are people we talk about here. But generally speaking, they are more people who live comfortably than those who suffer. To those, I think they will say God loves them.

Anyway, to answer your question, we can only ask God when we are face to face with him. But we would have no chance at all if we end up in hell. If there is no God, it is all vanity, a puff of air. Suffering is just a natural thing and no God is responsible as there is no God. However, those who strive to go to heaven, are glad to undergo suffering because, they claim to have the final victory to be with God.

Right now, since we notice that they are people who suffer, and it may be God who is watching whether those who live comfortably care to come to their aid to reduce their suffering.

There are actually several reasons.
First, lets actually look at kids we know so things can be understood more. Think of ones who have always gotten everything they wanted when they wanted it, and who have never had to work or suffer for it. Those kids are spoiled and, to be honest, miserable. Kids who understand what suffering is and who have to work for what they want actually seem happier to me. We can't be happy unless we also know what it is like to be sad. I think God knows this. I also think he wants us to be something more than we are. He doesn't want us to just be spoiled brats who get everything we want when we want it. Like any wise parent, there isn't just suffering of course, though. He especially lets the natural consequences of actions happen as well as a few trials, but he also provides many opportunities for us to be happy. There is just as much joy in the world as there is suffering, but some of us focus so much on the suffering that we ignore the joy.
Also, this life isn't it. We go on, and I think God wants us to be something more than we presently are. We can't be that person if we've never been tried! Many of the tribulations we face are very small compared to eternity. So what is a tradgedy here is very sad here, but when we get there, it will be something that we passed through that made us better people, but it really will be small to us then.

He doesn't. man does. God is allowing you the free will to make a choice in this age. If He was to interfere, then at judgement you could say "yeah, God, but I would've done it different, but you interfered". Well, you're not gonna be able to say that. He's stepped aside to let man make his choice, and to make a fair choice, you need comparitors. Thats why even though satan was condemned to death already, God still keeps him around.
And, just as a side-note: Most of what we suffer, we bring on ourselves. Don't blame God for it.
(for the scholar, yes, I know the elect do not have free will).

Once said in the bible, people before Christ believed that they could make a very tall towers, as a gateway to haven, god knew what they were doing, the mortals tried to do it, they all spoke the same language, and god didn't like that, so he made all of them speak different languages, some thought they were just joking them, some killed because of jokiness.

People chose to kill people, people chose to suffer (Goths) People chose to try to humiliate, make them gone (Hitler 1936-1945)
People suffer because of their decisions, and their choices.
It's not god's choices, it's their choices, and god has a plan for everyone, everyone always has a reason why they exist.

In the beginning God completely sustained His creation without blemish. That’s why it was perfect. He held every atom together in a perfect state. He kept the planets in their orbits. He kept animals from tripping and breaking their necks. He did not allow people to suffer and die.
Deuteronomy 8:4 gives us a little glimpse of how things might have been in the original creation. “Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.” God is omnipotent and perfectly capable of sustaining and protecting his creation.
When Adam sinned, however, the Lord cursed the universe. In essence there was a change and along with that change God seemingly took away a little bit of his sustaining power and allowed things like suffering and death into His creation. Now He permits bad things to happen—and this is a reminder that sin has consequences and that the world needs a Savior. Romans 8:22 says, “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”

God took pleasure in all of His creation ("http://bible.gospelcom.net/bible?passage=revelation+4:11&version=NKJV"), but He loved people most of all. He allowed the created universe to deteriorate so we would see the consequences of our sin. If we did not see the consequences of our sin, we would never see that we need salvation from our sin, and we would never accept His offer of mercy for our sin. Most people easily recognize that there is a problem in the world. This can be used to show them that there is one who has overcome this problem of death and suffering—Jesus Christ.

Does He? Or do we cause our own suffering?

Jesus had an interesting parable on the nature of God that may explain this. Think of God as rain. Rain doesn't discriminate on where it falls. It just rains. Think of humanity as the soil. Some soil is very hard, and the rain runs right off. Some soil is cultivated, and is able to soak in all the rain for its benefit.

Cultivating one's spiritual life through prayer, practices, and good works allows one to understand better how life works. Events happen--it is the individual that interprets the event as being "good" or "bad". The wise person finds good in all events, and gets close to God so that they remain in peace.

He doesnt make us suffer, its Satan and sin. Satan is very good at tricking people into thinking this way. He will make you think all kinds of things are wrong with the bible and God but if your strong and can rid him of your life and have God in your life, life itself for you would be so much better! The life I have had, I found God and Im so happy! Im living proof!

There are many possible answers, depending on circumstances. Here are four possible answers.

1) Sometimes suffering is just the natural consequences of our actions.

2) Sometimes suffering is the unjust consequences of someone else's actions.

3) Sometimes suffering comes from the affliction of Satan. 1 Peter 5:8 "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

4) Sometimes suffering comes from the will of God. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9
7 Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me -- to keep me from exalting myself!
8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.
9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
