I never see him, but we've been best friends forever.
Is it time to break up with him and still be his friend?
Or do I call him more and ask to see him on weekends?

don't break up with him because of something silly like age... especially when it's only a year! i'm happily married to someone 4 years older than me, of course, we met when i was 20 and he was 24.. but if you really like him, you should stick it out, a year age difference becomes less and less of an issue every year. i would definately try to see him more on weekends, you'll have more fun together that way.

well it depends how u feel bout him. i think u should ask to see him after school and/or during the weekends when neither of u 2 r wrking. my bf is 2 grades below me n we talk all the time n i see him alot during the weekends n sumetimes during the week too, cuz he goes to a different skool. and if ur bf truely loves u, he'll make time to see u more often. just tell him what ur asking on here n let him know whats up.

Not sure why u are dumping him but if it is because of the age then NO. I am 18 and my gf is 23 and we both love the fact that she is older than me by 5 years. When I first dated her I was only 17!

If you are still in school and asking a question like this I say.... end the relationship on a good note. You will have lots of opportunities to meet new men throughout college, etc.

You say you've been best friends forever, but never see him? That doesn't make sense to me. Whatever you've been doing to become best friends is fine for now. You don't say what grade you are in, can you meet at lunch? Weekends are fine for dating, just don't overlook your homework.

It depends... if you guys hang out outside of school, it would work. That was my problem with my old boyfriend and its been the problem with all of my boyfriends, but I try to see them as much as possible... I'd have to know more, do you want to break up with him? That should be the ultimate deciding factor.

dump him - the girl should ALWAYS be younger than the boy - do you want to be off going to college and have a boyfriend still in high school! trust me my friend was in this situation - and she ended up waiting her time - because right when she graduated things changed!
trust me you wont miss him when you go to college and there is a bunch of fresh meat out there

if you really like him, it shouldnt matter what grade hes in. If you want, you could see how it goes if you see him at the weekends. If it doesnt seem right, then just be friends...its better like that sometimes anyway.
