Wouldn't it make more sense for the two of you to sit down and actually talk about your future plans and goals? It seems a bit silly to be hoping to be surprised by something so serious. Those "clues" don't seem to add up to much. If all he does is make cutesy little remarks about being married and you haven't talked about life, marriage, family, children, financial goals, living arrangements, premarital counseling, religion, and other topics I wouldn't expect to get married.

Well you are still pretty young, and money is always a factor. The cost of a wedding, buying an engagement ring is pretty expensive for a 24 or 25 year old. Sounds like he is interested, best thing might be to start saving money, sounds like you are the girl he wants to marry.

Sounds like some really open clues to me! He could be waiting for Valentine's Day so can propose on the most romantic day of the year. And him talking to your dad is a very good sign (I think I'd freak out if I came home and my boyfriend was talking to my father on the phone! I also don't talk to my father much on the phone). Good luck and a hopeful congrats!

Don't try to guess or predict anything, it takes the fun out of it. Are you the person who shakes your presents at Christmas and tries to guess what is inside?
Maybe he is just planning something special for you like a party or a vacation...rather than a proposal. Just take each day as it comes and then you will be really surprised and thrilled and excited when and if he does ask you.

Well he obviously wants to marry you... but as for when he is going to propose... GOD ONLY KNOWS!
I thought I knew when my husband was going to propose. We had talked about getting married in October... thought it would be Christmas... since he asked which holiday was my fav.
Well we had a trip planned for Atlanta the last weekend of October 2006. He had planned to do it there... but... that didn't happen... he proposed sooner. He had the ring and couldn't wait any longer. Haha, he could only hold the ring in his possession for like 3 hours before he gave it to me. It was totally unexpected... we still laugh about it.

My great concern's that he might have taken it for granted that you've already got the message. If you still want him to "formally propose to you" then, I think you're the one to lead the chat here. Just lead him into the conversation and ask him bluntly: does that suggest that we'll be married someday? when do you suggest?... you can then suggest a time you want .... and so forth - as simple as that. Best of luck and cheers!

Well it sounds like he wants to marry you. As for popping the question, that is impossible to know. Perhaps he wants to surprise you! YAY!
