I am not positive, but I am pretty sure this place that I am living in now may have been a meth lab at one time... I can not prove it, but my daughter and I have been sick since we moved here 4 months ago. Is there a way to find out for sure, and what are the symptoms of living in a previous meth lab?? Please Help with only real answers, this is a SERIOUS matter no jokes please.

I am renting, but it is a trailer, and when I moved in, it was filthy and it took me a week to clean it before I would even move my stuff into it. THere really are no hiding places or anything, and the carpets have been professionally cleaned, but the only place I have a strong urine oder is in the bathroom, I cant get rid of it, so I closed it off and I dont use it, averyone uses my bathroom in the master bedroom. I have had the septic tank emptied, and the lines cleaned because when I first moved in, I had a lot of problems with draining and flushing toilets. I really dont have any proof, but I would like to have this place tested, my landlord told me that the people that lived here prior, left without notice and non payment and I was allowed to have the first month free if I cleaned it up. My 11 month old and I have been sick since we moved in. She constantly has colds strep, scarlet fever, rashes, cranky, sleeplessness &I have headaches & anxiety& colds and sleeplessness.

If you're staying sick, you need to get out of there. Something about that place isn't safe, wheather it was a meth lab or not.

Is there a strong amonia or 'cat urine' smell that you cant seem to scrub away? Headaches and nausea are common. Look in hiding places for evidence; ie attic, basement, way far back in cabinets, etc. Evidence can include syringes, glass pipes, tiny baggies, rubber tubing. I rented an apartment and when I inquired about the strange smell when I went to pay the deposit, I was told it was just because they had just laid carpet. Wrong. I scrubbed and scrubbed with bleach and thought the previous occupant must have had 20 cats or something, until I found the syringes and finally put the pieces together. I moved quite promptly as I had two very young children at the time. If you are renting, have you expressed your concerns to the landlord?

I don't know what the symtoms would be, but I have heard that residue from meth labs will stay on the floors and in carpets. Have you tried doing an extensive floor cleaning? In what have you been sick? I would definitly do some research on it to find out more. You may just have to find somewhere else to live. Good luck and best wishes!
