I'm in the same boat. Just about 28 and have not had a girlfriend in about the same amount of time. And its the same for dating, everybody I date never works out. Last girl approached me initially and we went out but it fizzled out because of someof her issues. everybody seems to have baggage.
The only thing I can suggest is what I am planning to do to change things. I've met almost all the girls I've been with through parties or outings. So if you've exhausted that avenue as I have, you can try eHarmony or speed dating events. the speed dating phenomena is getting bigger and more widely accepted and you can meet many people to see if you match. the odds are better when there are more people and that are in the same situation as you. If you really want something more than casual sex, i've found that clubs and bars are a dead end.

I feel your frustration! I will be 35 next month and dated here/there but cant find anyone I would want to give my heart to.Sometimes it seems useless to look but everyone assures me "she" is out there somewhere and I'll meet her when I least expect it.OH how I hope they are right.I wouldn't say I'm picky but very cautious. If I see a "red flag" that's it, I'm done and move on.Its tough because the older I get the more cautious I become.Best of luck to you on your search!!!

I know what u mean.
I was single for 12 yrs.
What made a difference for me is having more of an
open mind and heart.
Stop seeking for the same type of guy.
Try getting to know different types of people.
Most of all don't follow the same stereo-type.
U will find that there are hidden treasures in people
u least expect to find that in.

Maybe you are looking 'the wrong way' and in 'the wrong places' ... and if that is true, your 'one true love' could be very close to you even when you can't 'see him as a prince' ... because you are looking for your 'ideal man' with a 'physical description' when you should be 'looking at who he is inside.' At one time, I could have 'described my ideal man' as being tall (over 6 feet), thin, with lots of dark hair on his head, and no beard but perhaps a mustache. Then, after being hurt many times, and even getting divorced more than once, I became 'best friends' with a 'short' (5'10"), fat (265 pounds) man who is 'basically bald' but who did have a mustache. I really 'liked him' so much that I was 'jealous' of his 'one and only woman' because she wouldn't want the two of us to be 'best friends' ... until I needed 'a shoulder to cry on' one day, and I went to him. I 'just wanted' someone to talk to, but he literally put his arms around me and laid my head on his chest. NOTHING had ever felt so GOOD, and I 'ran' from his apartment as fast as possible. Two days later, I told him that we 'needed to have a long talk' because I was 'confused' (at 46) and wanted to know whether what I saw as him being romantic was him being romantic toward me or was 'just him' ... it was 'just him' but that talk lasted for hours, and we ended it with the decision to 'take our time' (I presumed he understood it would take a long time) and 'explore the possibility' of 'being romantic' together. Less than two weeks later, we 'started going together' but I was so thinking about 'taking a long time' that I didn't even know that we were 'going together' until the next day, after we had done the one thing he'd told me that he would 'never do' until he was with the 'one woman of his life' ... and then I laughed so hard that I fell out of bed, because I realized I'd been jealous of myself! So ... don't look where you have been 'dating' but look at the men that you 'see and talk to every day' ... and don't look at the way they 'look' but at who they are 'inside' ... because I'm betting that when you do this, you'll probably find that 'right person' for you ... and he's been 'right under your nose' all this time!
