It depends on what you are doing with it and why. Try the yogurt for sour cream. For regular cream, you can use fat free half and half, or whole milk. If it's a dairy issue try soy. Or, just leave it out altogether. Post more specifics if you still need help!

They make cheese that is nondairy, and it is in block form you can shred, and also preshredded. What I find is best is the rice cheese. If you can't have gluten or dairy, you may be senstive to soy also (?), and if that is the case, then the rice is your best option for sure, but personally, I think it's better than the soy cheese anyway. And a good healthy store such a Whole Foods, or Wild Harvest will have exactly what you need. . . .As far as sour cream, I am not sure what you could substitute, but they may have a nondairy suggestion at the store.

When you have to use yogurt , do not add it directly to the dish.
First you put it in a bowl and stir it nicely with a spoon so that there are no 'bumps' and it is smooth.
After you add the yogurt the dish you are cooking should not boil, just cooked till it is starting to boil.If you boil it the yogurt will break and small grainular pieces form and water gets separated.
It does not look nice.

You can easily replace dairy with coconut. "Thai Kitchen Premium Coconut Milk" is my favourite.
Dairy is nasty in comparison. the high fat coconut cream is full of caprylic (sp?) acid which does wonders on yeast populations in large intestines.
Apple sauce can do amazing things too.
