Very bad idea, you'll regret it later when your older. Name tattoos are very trashy lookin.

The only names I have tattooed on my body are my husband, my children and soon to be my grandparents. That's all the names I need.
Hope this helps and good luck!

haha! my first tattoo was my name in korean (my mom is korean) it has since been covered up. looking back it seems like people who get their own names tattooed on themselves have not thought out what they really want they just think, i want a tattoo and i'll get my name. i would not do it again. i'll stick to things that mean something to me. i don't even like my name that much, neither does my mom! haha!

I don't think I would get my own name in ink on myself but I definitely would for my kids' names. I had a significant other's name tattooed on me and I regret it big time, we weren't together after I got it.

My own name, no. My children or husband yes. I have my husbands name on my shoulder, if we were to get a divorce for some reason, it also happens to be my sons name. A good idea instead of your spouse's name might be something that has meaning to you both, I have the M&M guys on my leg, Michael & Marcie = M&M

Alot of people get their last name on themselves...family representation. I wouldn't do my first name but I have my husband's name and my nephews nickname on my art.
I don't think it's a bad idea. Just get creative and have fun with it. I've seen the "Hello. My Name is:" tag on someone and I thought it was very creative and cool.

I own a tattoo studio and when someone comes to us and wants their name tattooed on them, my very first question to them is "Do you forget your name much?"

The only names that should be tattooed is a parent or your child. These things can't change.

Personally, I wouldn't want my name tattooed on myself, but the whole reason for getting a tattoo is for self-expression. If you like it, and you want it, then get it. It's your choice!

I think name tatts are a bad idea.
Husband had name of old girlfriend on arm and I paid to get it covered. Dragon cover job. looks great.
We got a symbol we both liked and have matching tatts. I thought that way if we broke up no one would know it was for us.

no i wouldn't get MY name tattooed on me....I always just think....why get your own name on yourself? Are you afraid of forgetting it? Getting your child's name on yourself...different story...but I wouldn't put your own name on yourself.

my own name? no. it's not like i'm ever going to forget it (well, hopefully not anyway). i don't really get the point of getting my own name on me.

i don't generally like the look of name tattoos, whether for kids/significant others/parents/etc anyway. i'd rather get something that represents that person. but, to each their own.
