Most likely "conjuctivitis" which is the medical term for eye infection. Common in kittens. Don't worry, you're doing good by taking her to kitty doctor. Good luck

Could be an eye infection, which is usually treated with antibiotics in the eye. It's quite a common thing in young cats, especially if they go outside or come into contact with other cats.
Older cats are prone to cataracts and similar ailments, but these are rare in youngsters, although not impossible.
Another possibility is an injury, in which case the vet will often put a fluorescent substance in the eye and observe the cat with the lights out. This helps determine whether there are any scratches on the cornea.

The average lifespan of a cat is 15 years. However, that is an average. There are some cats that have lived into their 20s and I'm sure there are a few out there who have lived even longer (look in the Guinness Book of World Records for that). My cat is 15 and still going strong. You are facing a big decision. My advice to you is take your cat to a vet for a physical assessment. If your cat is reaching the end of her time, your vet may recommend humane euthanasia. The cat will be "put to sleep", using high doses of barbituates. It is a painless procedure and it will end your cat's life in a dignified, gentle manner (even animals deserve that). This is a difficult thing to do. The last cat I had that had to be euthanized was only 18 month old...but he had FIP and there is no cure for that. He was in pain and was suffering. I wish you luck...and I hope that you will be able to make the right choice. EMT

Hi when I adopted one of my cats a little over a year ago she had the same problem. The vet will give you a tiny tube w/ cream (gel like substance) to put in both of her eyes - in case she gets sick in the good eye. The medicine will kick in immediately and your kitty should be better in a couple of days. The medicine doesn't sting or hurt them - so nothing to worry about.

Your cat could either have an eye infection with pus covering the eyeball, or could have a cataract. If it is an eye infection, then your vet will give you a medicated eye creme to put in your kitty's eye.

My cat that is just over a year had the exact same thing. i brought him to the vet and it was 'Conjunctivitis'. He gave him and injection and he was fine. Be warned though that the foggy part from his eye may never clear but the infection is gone

Could be an eye infection or she could be going blind in that one yet. It's a good thing you are taking her to the vet. Hope everything turns out okay.

It sounds like it could be an ulcer forming. Your vet will probably do a 'strip test' on the eye, to see what kind of ulcer it is. She could have scratched her eye. Good luck with your kitty, and I'm sure she will be just fine! Ulcers take time to heal.
