I cant decide where I want to go. I found a house for $300 usd/wk in Utila. I am not much of a diver. I would actually like to just go to be around the water and the sand. Can anyone help with a decision? I will be flying from Dallas so whatever is easier to get to also. I want to go end of July beginning of August.

Just decide what you really want your vacation to be like. Both islands are very different. Utila is a lot more underdeveloped, and you basically go there to dive and maybe party a little at night. Beaches on the island are practically non-existant, you have to go to some nearby keys to be able to sit in the sand.

Roatan is another story, while it is more expensive than Utila, (you can still get some pretty good deals though), it has beautiful beaches. I believe West Bay Beach is the most beautiful stretch of sand in the world. Snorkling is great off West Bay, and you can dive if you want. Better infrastructure, better service, and just basically a lot more relaxing.

Roatan and Utila are edge of the bay islands. fantastic seashores, on Roatan you're in a position to do snorkelling on the coral reef. this is the prompt to the excellent Coral reef. this is not a higly devoleped touristic region with the gigantic resorts. yet you'd be ready to discover tremendous resorts. climate might want to be maximum perfect. It hardly ever rains on March in Honduras. Utila you'd be ready to do scuba diving with whale sharks. yet i'm now no longer particular in this time of the year. Utila isn't as built as Roatan in spite of the undeniable fact that is tremendous.
