Research has established that fish oils (EPA and DHA) play a crucial role in the prevention of atherosclerosis, heart attack, depression, and cancer. Clinical trials have shown that fish oil supplementation is effective in the treatment of many disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, ulcerative colitis, and Raynaud's disease.

Fish oil is good for your heart and circulatory system. However, given the level of pollution in the oceans, fish oil is also a good way to increase your body load of mercury and other toxins. Stick with a safe, plant-based alternative: hempseed oil is just as effective, organic, safe, and is easily available at most healthfood and vitamin stores.

They are mainly an antioxidant & MUST be refridgerated for the ones you're not carrying w/you. NEVER leave in a hot car; they will go rancid.
They help w/menopause and estrogen levels (or can, so can flaxseed); they help w/skin, the brain & can be used in addition to medications for any brain chemistry imbalance in some people w/great success--but, let your doctor know; not saying that is why you are asking. They help w/killing off free radicals; thus, the antioxidant, help w/ alot of things. Talk w/someone at your health food store; the best brand is a mix w/this guy's photo on it.
After a while, of going thru menopause I couldn't take 'em anymore because they CAUSED hot flashes; but were a GREAT HELP meanwhile.
