She has always done this before she used to urinate in the litterbox then go in the bath tub to poop was no way of stopping her, since I moved to a new apt. I keep the shower curtain closed & all was fine she done both in the box, now for no reason she pees in the litter-box then comes out & poops on the floor beside the box. My vet can't see any reason for it, she isn't sick or anything like that, she's just had her check-up & is in good health, I've tried moving the box to that spot didn't help ant. I even took her litter-box out of the bathroom & out it in another place but she still only peed inthe litter & done nothing else as soon as i opened the bathroom she right away went in and done her thing, guess maybe I'll have to put up with her silly ways. Any suggestion any one?

My cat used to do this and I got another box. All my four cats use one box to urinate and the other box to poo in. YOur cat may be telling you she needs more box space. Try getting another box. The rule is have one more box than you have cats.

My mom got me a book about how to know what you cat is saying and it said if there food is next to there litter box or in the same room they will make somewhere else there litter box because they don't like the smell or something and they like to go in a clean box but that's not a problem for you bcuz you said it was really clean so if the food is next to the litter box or in the same room try moving it somewhere else and see what happens. Good Luck!!!! Hope this helps :)

Could possibly be your kitty is not liking whatever type of litter you are using. Even though she pees there, she may consider it unfit to spend more time in there doing a #2. So try changing the litter type, different textures may work better for her. Also, try adding another litter box. One for pee and one for #2. Maybe she will like that better. Giver her some more choices. Worth a try

I would try anding a second litter box, although it sounds as though she is getting close!

What about putting one of her droppings in the litter box and see what happens with that.

Good luck.

Keep her litter very very clean. Try having 2 litter boxes, both with clean sand. When she pees in one of them, I bet she will then poo in the second - clean - one.

Make sure that your litter box is clean, cats don't like dirty litter boxes, mine does this if his litter box is dirty, They are very picky.

Cats are strange and bizarre creatures - who can guess what her reasons are, have you tried adding an extra litterbox ?
Maybe she wants one to pee and one to poop in ?
