if she really needs her gallbladder out, then she should do it now. the longer it is in the worse it will get and it can afect other organs. if it is not taken care of it could possibly kill her. good luck

Jake, have you all thought about a small personal loan and using Forerunners health care? I know it's not the best to go out of country for a procedure, but this is gaining fast in it's popularity for the very reason of affordability. I have not personally used the service, but two of my customers have. I'll leave a link to a page and you can check it out for yourself.
As far as the personal loan is concerned, yes, she can get one, but if her credit isn't that great she will pay more in interest because she is considered a high risk (for repayment). With a personal loan, though the payments will be much smaller than going balls-to-the-wall and paying out of pocket for medical expenses to get her back on her feet again.
She needs to talk to a professional, which many can be used for counseling (state or gov't) for free of charge and over the phone. For that you will have to search the net for your location.
She should also be able to get benefits and assistance due to her situation. If the funds she is receiving are not adequate, she can dispute it and possibly get more. The only problem is it being up to their discretion (as I am sure you know already).

I wish that I had more information to provide, but that's all I can come up with for now. All I can say is stay positive, keep your eyes on your goal and there is ALWAYS a way to it. Sometimes it just requires a little more effort or a look in a previously overlooked spot - think LOOPHOLE. I hope you all get squared away soon. Keep on thinking about getting through this and you will.
Never underestimate the power of distraction, she needs activity, mentally and physically. She may be limited, but even those with severe problems need to be mobile and work those muscles (pain included). It's true what they say about if you don't use it, you lose it.
Take care.

Hi, i've had my gall bladder removed but before i had it taken out the pain was worse then anyhtign i've ever experienced. I wanted to die. The menopause can also affect womens moods and leave them extremely low. You must ame an apt with the Dcotor and tell him straight that your girlfriend is talking about suicide. If you don't get any help ring the local paper and tell them your story!! Also contact your local mental health group for support and advice. Good luck

Look. The bottom line is this:

Desperate times require desperate measures.

She must go to the Human Resources office and obtain Medicaid. If she lives with you, you will have to vouch for paying her expenses-like rent, electricity, etc.
Suicide is very serious. If she makes another attempt, or acts like she plans to, you must turn the matter over to the Mental Health people. If she *truly* is a danger to herself, that is the quickest and best way to obtain immediate evaluation for Mental Health treatment.
