Fillippis in Little Italy is the best. They also have a location in the Scripps/ Mira Mesa area, but that one's not as good.

Try Fillipi's (sp) Pizza Grotto in the Little Italy section of downtown San Diego. Avoid the fast food pizza joints like Papa John's or Round Table etc. because they are just the same old stuff you can get in most every other larger city in the US!

I have two favorites:
Old Venice, way out Rosecrantz on Canon, is the best Pizza I've ever had anywhere, maybe. It also has delicious salads and other nice Italian Entrees. It's "all white", with white paper table cloths, and crayons to play with! It is not expensive, but could be quite fancy if you'd like to dress up! Pizzas have medium crusts, wonderful ingredients, about 6 gourmet varieties, as well as the standard toppings.

The second place is Pizza Nova, which has places on Harbor Drive near Scott, and up in Hillcrest. Thin crust, LOTS of variety! Salads and pastas as well.

When I lived in San Diego, my favorite pizza was Round Table, thin crust.

Lamppost Pizza in Vista. The crust has a wonderful almost sweet flavor. Any variety is choice!

It's a nice and comfortable location. And they have NTN Games on their Big Screens. And a few arcade games.

It's clean, and the staff are friendly.
