My best friend has chosen very beautiful, but strapless dresses for her bridesmaids and is looking for shawls or wraps the bridesmaids can wear...something complimentary and simple that won't distract from the dress. Where should we look? I'm especially concerned with the right color and fabric that will match the dress.

Try the local mall. Especially mall carts. Alot of malls have them while you are walking, and I have seen many with shawls. Good luck!

Most times the designer of the dress will have a shawl or wrap you can purchase in the exact color/fabric of the dress

I spent about 3 hours 2 days ago searching for exactly this. I could not find anything in white. I finally settled on a Bolero jacket from David's Bridal.

IF you are handy with sewing at all, you can easily make them yourself. Take a swatch of the fabric you need to match to a fabric store, and choose a sheer fabric, cut to the size you want, and just do a hem stitch all around.

find a seamstress and get her to make something. It sounds like you're looking for perfection, and you just can't get that in the stores. Check out your local fabric store for a complimentary fabric, ask for a sample, and take it to the seamstress, if he/she is any good they'll be able to pull something together that's to your liking.

Davids Bridal has little bolero jackets that you can use. They are a short jacket with long sleeves and made of satin material.The satin can be dyed to whatever color you choose.
