I had to leave him and moved to a new town. My family doesn't support me and I have only made a few friends here so far. I am going to get one friend to watch my daughter and I want to drive to the hospital so I can drive back home (it is in the city, the hospital from my house is about 20 25 minutes). With my daughter I was in labour 7 hours and that was induced...

You could *try* driving yourself, but unfortunately they more than likely will not let your drive home. I don't know whether the law is just in my state or if it is a federal law but it is illegal to drive for the 2 weeks after having a baby. And you may end up crashing during a particularly nasty contraction. You said you had made a dew friends. I'm sure if you asked one or two of them about this they would at the very least be willing to drive you home. Good luck! It has to be hard for you with so little support! Good for you for keeping the baby and not aborting it like so many seem to prefer on this site! Feel free to email/IM me anytime if you need someone to talk to or an answer about babies/pregnancy I'm on my 4th go round lol.

With my first, I went to a hospital that was a one hour drive. I really didn't have a choice, because it was the only one my insurance would cover. Everything went fine. My husband drove. We left at 5 AM when my contractions were about 5 minutes apart, stopped at McDonald's on the way so my husband could get some breakfast, then he had to run into the gas station to get a mountain dew. When I got there my contractions were still 5 minutes apart and I ended up having the baby like 20 hours later. If you are nervous you can talk to your doctor about it. I was nervous, but my doc reassured me that I had plenty of time, and he was definitely right. Good luck.

I don't know if you'll be able to drive to the hospital, but I do know that they won't let you drive yourself and the baby home. It is recommended by most doctors, that you do no driving for the 6 week rest period, so I highly doubt that the hospital is going to let you drive home. You might want to rethink your plan, maybe take a cab or something.

Not a good idea. I'm sorry that there are so many people that aren't being there for you right now, but you should seek out people who WILL be there for you. There are plenty of people who would be more than happy to give you a lift.
Also, the hospital won't let you drive home.

You could but they will not let you drive yourself home. Maybe consider taking a taxi to and from the hospital.

Try calling up the taxi service. Its risky for you to try that. This time, the pains of labour might be worse and we might end up (God forbid) losing you and the child.
Please, dont drive yourself to death!

well sure you can drive yourself to the hospital. You might be in too much pain to do so but you can do it.

I would think you can drive to the hospital as long as you leave while in EARLY labor. However, you can NOT drive AFTER the delivery....you are suppose to wait TWO WEEKS after a vaginal delivery - longer for a C-section birth. I know one person that didn't wait the two weeks ~ she started hemorraging while driving and ended up in the hospital for EIGHT DAYS!!!! DUE TO DRIVING TOO SOON. PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL. YOUR BABIES NEED YOU!!!!! Good luck with the delivery & congrats!
