I fail to see why people answer questions regarding drugs when it is obvious they have NO clue what they are talking about. If you have never done a drug, you know next to nothing about it...period.

Why do these people insist on spouting ignorance anyway?

It's because they are ignorant. They think that what they heard in class, from parents, or articles on the internet give them the "insight" to formulate opinions. It doesn't occur to them that they have no actual experience with drugs. I'm not saying it's the greatest thing to have lots of experience with, but at least when people are wanting to know things like interactions, how to quit, withdrawal, etc. you can actually relate to them.

Why should you care anyways? There are dozens of people that answer stupidly and thank the asker for the 2 points. Then again it's a matter of many reasons. That person may have had family involved in drugs, not themselves, but might know something. The whole point of Y! answers is to get insight from different people that answers the question. Even then, they're still entitled to Opinion such as yourself who posted this question with your lay opinion that non experienced drug people should not answer any type of questions on drugs.

I don't know what world you come from to think that illegal drugs don't kill people as much as tobacco or alcohol. Other people such as drug cartel kill innocent people to get their drug into the market. They never show this on the news but it doesn't mean they're not happening. You just live in ignorant bliss, that's all, and you take drugs to drive you there.

You make a good point in that the experience of using a drug is something that can't be understood without actually doing it.

However, it is empirically possible to talk about a drug's chemical structure and effects on the brain, perception, etc and be accurate without actually having done it.

It is alos possible to talk in sociological or economic terms about a drug and not be fundamentally wrong.

Maybe they did them in the past or have a secret life where they do drugs all the time. Maybe they did a project about them in school. Why would anyone want to be able to say they have experience with drugs anyway?

drugs come in many forms. some people even take them without noticing. anyway, I'm guessing you know a lot about drugs because you have taken them yourself. to be honest, its the people that take drugs who don't know much about them until after they have taken them for a little while.

other people may not know how to abuse drugs properly, but they do know about drugs, and what it can do to their bodies.

There is a major difference between the two.

Just because a person hasn't take drugs doesn't mean that they don't know anything about them, or about addiction.

I'd say the statistics are enough for a person to be able to advise against drug use.

I always laugh at cops when they call pot a narcotic. Technically it is not. It is a drug, but so is just about everything. Food is a drug, everyone has experienced a classic symptom of withdrawal before(hunger).

Because they don't want to feel left out. I've never done dope either, but your concluding from that that I know nothing about it is foolish - I happen to be a licensed and certified health care provider who's done graduate study in the topic of illicit drugs. I also happen to carry handcuffs and a badge, so I wouldn't advise displaying the stuff when I'm around.

So, I can design an airplane, but because I'm not a pilot I know nothing about how an airplane works? I think your logic is a bit faulty. The ignorance is a bit closer to home.

Just because I have no personal experience with drugs does not mean that I have no knowledge of them and what they do to you. I don't live in a vacuum. But obviously, you do.
