My husband and I are planning a cruise this summer for our 15'th anniversary. We are leaving our 5 children with grandparents. We are looking for a good 7 night cruise. We want something fun yet classy...also sunny. We have done 2 Carnivals (fun, but a little to "neon"), 1 Royal Car. & 2 Disney (LOVED Disney, but no children this time). We are tired of the Bahamas and really of the Caribbean cruises as well. We are considering Celebrity's JOURNEY from NJ to Bermuda, but the ship is smaller than most and we wonder if there will be as much to do. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

Celebrity is a wonderful line, I've cruised with them many times. The best part about Celebrity is the service that you receive, far better than Royal Caribbean and Carnival. Disney is the closest you have been to this type service on a cruise, Disney's service is fatastic, especially for the price, but I think that Celebrity may be a little better.

I've not yet sailed on the Journey, I plan to soon, I haven't had a chance to book it yet either. I think that you will really like Celebrity, they are a great line, especially for couples.

A few other lines you may want to look into, if you are questioning Celebrity, would be Cunard, Princess and maybe Holland America. These are all really great lines as well and tend to have more adults than young adults and kids, so it may be more of what you are looking for.

I am including a link to Cruise Critic for Journey. It is a great site with a ton of info on all the lines and ships. You can look up reviews on almost every ship there is.

Congratuations on your anniversary!

We have sailed on most of Celebrity's ships, but not Journey. We are going on Royal Caribbean on 5/11 to Bermuda and Caribbean. I never met a Celebrity or Royal Caribbean ship I didn't like. In fact, we're so happy we bought stock in the company!

The entertainment is top rate. If you want to play the slots I go early in the cruise because they seem to pay off more then. If you tell the travel agent it's your anniversary you'll find a decorated cabin and be invited to honeymooners party.

Because the channel into Bermuda is small, only smaller ships like the Horizon and Zenith could go in there. Royal Caribbean always stays at the wharf for just that reason. In Hamilton you can take a glass bottom boat ride, a rum swizzle trip, a sightseeing bus that takes you to the aquarium or perfume factory, etc. St. George's is amazing and you'll enjoy your tour of that Parish as well.

We spent our honeymoon in Bermuda and met our now best friends back in the day there. We love going back and know you'll have a wonderful time. Congratulations!

We're actually booked on the Carnival Miracle to Bermuda in April.. It's a 7 day also out of NYC - which saves the airfare charge for us..

I've heard great things about Bermuda, and I've been doing a lot of research..
If you choose to go there.. I keep hearing it's really expensive.. so the best bet would be to eat on the ship in the morning, and then goof around on the island all day, but try and wait til you get back to the ship in the evening for dinner.
We're going to be in Bermuda for 2 days.. (Saturday morning til Sunday evening)..

It's got Pink sand beaches.... they look gorgeous.. I'm not sure who much else I"m going to be interested in though.

The other idea I have is to take one of those fall foliage cruises out of NYC.. up to Boston and Maine, and Halifax where the Titanic cemetery is.. (the people who died on the Titanic.. )
That looks like a GREAT cruise, and I keep thinking I want to take one of those.. (They have 4,5 & 7 day).. but I want to take my kids, and they seem to fall right at the beginning of the school year and I hate to take them out in September.

Hope you have a great time.. whatever you do!
