How do i convert mpeg files to another format?

I have mpeg files on my computer but they will not copy to dvd for some reason. is there a burning program or converter that would rectify this

Usually DVD burning software will work with mpeg files. What software are you using? I would recommend something like Roxio Media Creator, or something.
