There's a quote I'm lookingfor, I'll paraphrase:

"Refusing to meet oppresive violence with violence does not equate to moral fortitude". How does the real quote go? It's a lot better than my version.

Here's some Tao story:

One day, a monkey keeper said to his monkeys "how about if i feed you 3 in the day and 4 in the night?". The monkey become angry, and start yelling, jumping like crazy monkeys.
"Okay then, i'll feed you 4 in the day and 3 in the night."
Suddenly the monkey become tamed, calm and smiling happily.
