To thrown in my 2 cents into this discussion...
Sauce it up. If you want to finish fast and go to bed...the less work the better...
1) Sloppy Joes are nice...just pick up a pack of the spices at the grocery story before you go home.
2) Cream of mushroom soup and beef...don't add the extra can of water and you have yourself a mushroom sauce.
3) If you like tomato sauce...you can of course pick up a jar of the premade spaghetti sauce and add in the beef.
-- Of course browning the meat is important here...but throwing in some ready made sauce / mix is just so much easier.
Now for what to put the sauce on...
1) Pasta is ok, but the boiling part is time consuming and you still have to watch the water boil and stir the pasta. If you are ok with this, go ahead.
2) My favourite is rice. If you do not the authentic long grain rice, you can buy the (ghastly 8-) Uncle Ben's rice. That stuff can be nuked in minutes. No waiting or watching the stove.
I am Asian, so I have a rice cooker...just as easy.
So...my suggestion is sauce up the meat and put it on some carbohydrates.

Here's a list of quick things you can make (I am not sure what other ingrediants you have):
1. Pasta and meat sauce - mix the browned ground beef with the tomato sauce and you'll be good to go.
2. Sloppy Joe's- if you have the mix or even some BBQ sauce and buns...
3. Tacos/ Taco salad/ Nachos- put the meat over chips (or shell) with anything else you might have
4. Mini Meatloafs- If you make the lb of ground beef with your normal meatloaf seasonings (I use salt, pepper, and egg, some bread crumbs and a few other spices) and make them into smaller little loafs they will cook through faster.
Hope that helped!!

2 cups macaroni - cooked to tender but not too soft - drain water off
1 pound ground beef browned with salt, pepper and a dash of garlic powder.
1 can diced tomatoes
1 small onion diced.
Dash of chili powder
Use a large skillet to brown the hamburger because you add everything else to it. Plus add a bit of Chili Powder. Then let it simmer together until the oinions are cooked.
It's ready to go and not a lot of clean up.

Grab some Stove Top stuffing, an egg and throw it in a bowl, mix it up, throw it in a pan cook for 30-45 min (depending on what pan you use...internal temp 165) and have a lovely meatloaf. Eat it with potatoes and a veggie. Slice up what's left, keep it in the fridge. It fries up nicely, as do leftover potatoes for easy supper tomorrow too! Use a non-stick pan to get the nice crispy outside. YUM!

Fry it up... drain the fat, return the meat to the fry pan and add some chopped onion and garlic if you have some. Add a tablespoon of beef bouillon and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil and thicken with corn starch and water slurry. Remove from heat, stir in some sour cream and VOILA... you have stroganoff !! We crave this often and it is sooooooooooooooo simple !! (salt & pepper to taste)
Far to many people think you need 20 ingredients to make a meal when really simplicity is KEY !
Enjoy !

If you have mac N cheese on hand, make the mac n cheese, brown the ground beef, combine and mix in green beans and corn. Super simple and delicious. If you have frozen veggies you can throw them in the water with the noodles or steam them in the microwave.
