This worked for me.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

The difficulty is that, as a scientist, I believe any 'miracle' that occurs must have a scientific reason. If you were to present me with an apparant miracle I would be reluctant to accept it on the grounds that we simply don't understand the science enough yet.
I am afraid I do not think there is any 'proof' you can give me that would convince me. Similarly, there will be no 'proof' I can give you to convince you otherwise.
See, you could say that all the proofs I present to you are by God's plan. Similarly, I could say that all the proofs you present to me are manifestations of natures stranger side.
Take, for example, 'spiritual experiences'. The fluttering in the tummy is attributed to the release of adrenaline. The release of adrenaline is triggered when part of the brain is stimulated in an abnormal way. This can happen if you experience an electric shock of if your brain is starved of oxygen for a few minutes. It can even happen if you stare at a blank wall for a few hours. And it's a chain reaction. You feel the tremor in your tummy and it makes you think 'is this a spiritual experience?', which gets you excited and, hence, releases more adrenaline to make your tummy flutter more. Endorphines are also released, so you feel happy. If your God was to come to me and shake my hand I would still think that it is an illusion generated in my brain and that I was hullucinating!
On the other hand, absolutely every physical proof that required 'God' as an explanation five-thousand years ago now has a scientific explanation, and the science is based on a system of logic that is undenyable. That said, you could still argue that God chose to reveal the science to us to make us 'glorify him more' or whatever... you would say that it is 'God's plan'.
I answered a question about God's plan recently, I have included the link in my sources below. Anyway, the answer to your question is that I wouldn't accept any proof. I believe that God doesn't exist with the same faith that you believe God does exist.

I can honestly say that the proof I require is not something that would ever happen. Amazing coincidences, miracles left and right, catastrophes left and right, mystical dreams....none of that kind of phenomena would do it for me.
It would require something along the lines of Bruce Almighty. Not exactly that, but a face-to-face meeting and a really long file drawer would be a good starting point.

Give it up, Sweetie. It's like beating a dead horse. Athiests are just as bullheaded as we are. God has blessed us with free agency, so that this division was inevitable. If everyone believed in God, then would we truly appreciate what He does for us? No. It sets us apart because we are His chosen ones. My favorite phrase applies to so many things..."Without the bitter, how can you taste the sweet?
Say a prayer, help those who you can, and live life to the best of your ability. God Bless

I think God reveals Him/Herself to every individual, and if God hasn't made Him/Herself known to some, it was meant to be this way. You should be thankful for the Atheists in the world. Look at what they've done in the fields of medicine and technology and humanity.
Blessed Be.

he would have to demonstrate. Anything. And not just to me, but to all the people in the world simultaneously, so that there is no doubt we are not hallucinating.
He would also have to explain why Vishnu, Zeus, Thor, Aries and all the other guys are fakes and only he is real. Because I am somehow sure that you are talking about mr. christian god.

Hey not myself. Remember the account of the rich man and Lazarus? The rich man, being in torments asked Lazarus, who was in Abraham's bosom(paradise) asked Lazarus to please send Lazarus to talk to his 5 brothers so they wouldn't end up in hell. The answer back to him was even if Lazarus came back from the dead, they still wouldn't believe. The only thing that would work is "Moses and the prophets". What is Moses and the prophets? How about God's Word? But you knew that.

Man created God by writing the Bible. He's one of the main characters in a book. Other cultures have had either oral/written stories of creation. It's all fiction.

Considering I have a proof that there is no such being that invokes the Church-Turing Thesis as its primary support?
First you'd have to provide a disproof of the Church-Turing Thesis.
Good luck with that.

An untold amt of history would have to change and, if a single, male deity created everything, nature (part of creation) would need to reflect that.

I dunno why everyone is so confused about if their is a god or not. It's simple if you don't believe in god then what do you believe in? Anything? Did you know that 92% of Americans believe in god? You may think that you evolved from an ape, but I sure haven't. As for mister if he comes down and changes dirt into a person, then what good would that do? Would you believe even then? I know people who have seen miracles and still don't believe. So stop dissing on god before you get struck by lightning!
