You could try putting a teaspoon of Cod Liver Oil in your dogs food once or twice per week. It really helps the dry skin and makes their coat very shiny.

I have a little black Pomeranian and you can really see her dandruff! Cod Liver Oil helps her a lot.

Yeah it is normal for this time of year for dogs and puppies to have dandruff. I would recommend to go get some anti itch shampoo because if you look it have oatmeal in it and that helps them a lot. Also that will help but if you dont bathe them alot. So you should try to bath him about once a month. Now i know that will be hard so get some of those cloth bath things. They are like handi wipes but with dog shampoo on them so that way you can keep him clean but with out all the water to dry him out. Also you if you brush him daily it will help with all of the itchiness from the dandruff. O and some dog food with rice or stuff like that in them will help. and as cute as he may be try not to give in to table scraps

Sometimes what you think is dandruff isn't. When one of the animals cell count red or white is low that can happen. I don't remember the name of the shampoo, but you should be able to get it from your vet or at a pet store. Also, the vet can take a blood test and the count is off, then they can get you a tube of medicine that you give your animal twice a day, they'll like the taste. Just can't remember the name sorry.

My dog has dandruff too. Sometimes when you bathe a dog too much it dries out their skin by washing away their natural oils in there hair. Sometimes its just there because the dog naturally doesnt produce enough of those oils. Try not bathing your dog as much (unless he/she gets REALLY bad) or going to a pet store and getting the specialized shampoo.

My dog suffered with awful dandruff and I tried all sorts of remedies her coat is black so it showed up more.
I tried several special shampoos including coal tar.
I tried Cod liver oil and olive oil on her food
Stuff from the vet for sensitive skin
I changed her food which was pedigree chum complete to science plan and then to a special herbal stuff (dry) then one day I was out walking with her and an old man said I bet you give your dog dry food I said I did he told me that the very best food for dogs is the cheap old Chappie.
It is made with fish and absolutely stinks.
I thought nothing ventured nothing gained and I had tried countless other things.
Guess what she has the most silky black coat which positively shines.
Does any one know any remedies for terrible dog breath - its real bad smelly fishy!!!

Make sure you're feeding the dog a premium dog food. No by products, no corn - all natural. Also check for wheat - try cutting the wheat also that might help.

There is a substance called linetone that helps w/ the skin. Also try putting in a humidifier to create mositure in the air. You can also start brushing her, that helps with the oils in her skin

Good Luck

Our beagle sometimes gets dry, flaky skin in the winter. I usually either put a tablespoon or two of olive oil on his food or give him some flaxseed (make sure it's already ground up...if it's whole seed it will just get pooped out that way!). Shooter seems to like the flaxseed, he'll eat it straight and not mixed with anything!

Using a Zoom Groom (http://www.dogtoys.com/zoomgrooms2.html) should help to stimulate the skin and remove dead skin cells. Also, using salmon oil as a supplement in his food helps a lot.

Excessive dandruff can also be caused by stress. Just something to keep in mind.

Skin problems are usually diet related. Try an all natural food such as Nutro Utra or Authority. They have no chemicals which cause allergic skin rashes. And if it's from the shampoo, then give him another bath but use just water. You may not have got it all off.

Evening primrose caspsules daily, groom like crazy - also daily. Grooming massages the skin, improving local blood supply and increases the skins health
