consuming certain foods does not automatically cause fat storage. weight gain occurs when there is a caloric excess over an extended period of time combined with a low level of physical activity.
whole oats are very healthy as they are not processed and are high in fiber

I have eaten oats for breakfast every morning with my girls for the last 3 months and I can tell that it has really energized my days, I can make it till later in the afternoon to eat lunch without snacking. And the weight has slowly come off because I don't snack so. And occasionally I has porridge for dinner, nothing after 7:00, but it definitely fills you! Good luck to all trying to lose weight, exercise well and prayer works to,so make heathly lives and heathly children, WOW I sound like my mom!!!

It is the best thing you can do for your system.
Weight gain is a simple math.
Eat more then you burn over all you gain weight. If you eat too much less then you gain weight because body slows down and you feel bad but gain weight. For most people it happens around 1200 calories a day. At 1500 calories per day balance diet you are very stable, provided that you are maintaining normal life style and not bed Leiden.

YES. Oats porridge is the recommended food for people who want to gain weight, people who are under-nourished, people who have recovered from a prolonged illness and have become very weak.
If you do not want to gain weight, DO NOT EAT OATS PORRIDGE. OATS PORRIDGE IS FOR SKINNY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO ADD WEIGHT.

chewing on ice is actually a sign for an iron deficiency, you might want to see the doctor. otherwise, i don't see it making you gain weight...water weight, perhaps, if you eat that much and weigh yourself after eating a lot of ice, but you shouldn't be gaining weight. however, if you are only eating ice and cutting back severely on eating, then your body goes into starvation mode, and when you do eat, your body stores whatever you had as fat.

No...ice is water... But often chewing on ice means you have some kind of deficiency, like Shellular Kellular said. My mom gets the craving to chew on ice when she has an iron deficiency in her blood. Most likely, if you are emitting certain foods from your diet to lose weight, you are not getting certain nutrients that you need. So you should probably go see your doctor and get that worked out.
