You would need to have and awful lot to make a decent meal.
They only weigh and ounce or two each.
Talk about four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
In tudor times larks tongues were a delicacy.
But I suppose it is no stranger than eating quail or pigeon.
Just have to make sure that they are cooked properly

That's not a good idea. They carry all kinds of diseases & bacterias.

If you want to, you should chop its legs & head off. Gut the bird, so that its fecal matter isn't getting digested, and COOK IT to 180 degrees in the middle.

Considering how many diseses they carry like west nile, and h5n1, its a really bad idea. You could be the link that gives humans a new disease to deal with as a result of doing something unnnatural with a species we have no business messing with.

I don't think you can acquire enough canaries to sustain yourself. Not much on those suckers.
I think you may have to go the way Farley Mowat ate in "Never Cry Wolf" -- his dinner consisted of cooked, whole mice.

So cook those little bird bodies whole and eat them whole.

If you eat only the meat, it won't kill you - just don't eat the bones. I can't imagine why you would want to eat a canary though...they are very small, not much meat at all.

Maybe you should practice with mice first and then move up to canaries.
Do you lick the back of your hands and claw the furniture too?

i dont know why you would want to, but if you have to i guess you can eat/prepare it like a chicken or if you want to eat the whole thing, then i suggest the following ...

- get a blender
- add some water (optional) if you dont add water it will come out like mush
- add bird
- turn blender on (till mush or liquid)
- turn blender off
- enjoy

Yes you should avoid eating canaries. Plus it's not very good for them either.
