I had a friend who had a brain tumor and one symptom that alarmed her doctors was her morning headaches. Every morning she would wake up with a headache that lasted a couple of hours. She didn't think it was big deal b/c she was under a lot of stress, but her doctor said that was disturbing and suspected she might have a tumor.

Among the symptoms are; headache, dizziness, vomiting, paralysis of any extremity or facial part, incoherence, convulsions, tics or tremors in any part of the body, disturbances in mental functions etc...
The manifestation of a brain tumor is very variable, hence, the best way to know is by consulting a physician....

You don't. Your mother may have other problems such as Alzheimer's, Dimentia etc. Only her doctor would be able to get a diagnoses. If you suspect a brain turmer an MRI would probably be the route to go. If she has had cancer before it is a strong possibility. Again you need professional advice.
