Can't do much about cats wandering, they are curious critters. Try speaking to your neighbours again. If they really want a cat suggest they try Cats Protection or ask them if they'd like the details of the breeder you bought your Birman from.
Try keeping your cat in, though if he/she's used to going out that could be difficult. We have seven cats and they all live indoors and are happy. We also have one outdoor cat, Beryl the Feral, who keeps the rodents down in the barns. Four of our indoor cats were her last litter of kittens, rescued at 8 weeks old.
If we had a smaller house I'd enclose the garden to keep our cats in and other people's out. Last resort.

My brother had this happen and the neighbour kept cheekily changing the cats collar for one they bought! also feeding etc, the problem with cats they are quite free willed and obviously the neighbour has took a shine to him the only way to stop it is by basically keeping the cat inside with the litter tray, which isnt really the best thing, my brother asked the elderly lady to stop feeding there cat and she didnt. As long as the cat is ok and they dont try and abduct him i would try not to worry. its better than your neighbour hating cats. know this isnt much help but i do sympathise

Mine did this for a while when we moved house as the old lady down the lane leaves food out? They did stop after a while though. Try getting some nice fish once a week or some treats from the pet shop, He'll soon work out where he's better off.

Erm - a difficult one. Can you speak to them again? Could you keep your cat in for a while in the hope he gives up? My cat used to go into our next door neighbours house - they didn't mind - I wasn't too bothered but would have preferred them not to do it. Luckily it stopped when they got a dog! The thing is cats usually do what they want anyway... Good luck.

If it was not your neighbours house your cat is going into it would be another house. This is what cats do, I have a cat who lives between my home and my next door but one neighbours. Its what they do, and what harm is it doing just think you could be helping someone who is lonely and enjoys the company of your cat.

It's very tricky, cats are prone to visiting if they think they are welcome and short of asking your neighbour I'm not sure there's much you can do. I can understand why you are distressed but you have to consider if it is worth arguing with your neighbours about. Try asking again, maybe they didn't realise you were serious.

my cat does exactly the same thing, i have spoken to them about it several times but they continue to feed him and let him in, you could try speaking to them again but cats will go where they want and when they want, apart from keeping the cat indoors there is not a lot you can do about it unfortunately

Stop letting the cat outside or build a fence where the cat can rome around. When a cat is looking outside from the house, what it sees is it's territory. When a cat is outside, where it romes is it's territory.
Our neighbors let their cats out too and I hate it cause they come into my yard to poop. Then when we are outside, we step in it or mow it and it stinks! We have cats, but we keep them inside for fear of losing them.
