Well, yeah; that is why we have it; because it's practical. Although some polititians don't follow this part of our constitution. Like for instance on the gay marriage; they say that the bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman, and that's why they are not letting gays get married. Well, actually they're not supposed to do that because the constitution says that they can't. It's ridiculous, that's all, because gays pay taxes as well. Also, we must remember that the original bible, the one written in hebrew, states nothing of the sort. Man added that in because they never have liked gays. It's obvious, and thanks for asking me an intelligent question. LOL..I love it when this happens. Almost no one asks me questions that are at least of average intelligence. I've always known that you are smart, and thankfully, you don't hide it like most people. Thinking is painful to a lot of people it seems. LOL....I don't know, but...................

This country's values didn't start with Chrisianity. Its values started on Freedom Of Religion.

Sounds about right to me.

Only a moron would try to impose their nonsensical idea of moral authority on others.

It doesn't matter when it was written in the Bible. Like you stated, the Constitution says the polititians AREN'T ALLOWED to mix the bible with the laws of the country. But here they are, doing exactly that. And yes, we do pay taxes like everyone else. I hope those straight people enjoy the tax money I pay for their kids to go to school while they vote against my basic human rights.

And I am THRILLED that they would throw my relationships into the same boat as incest and bestiality. This world is full of hatred and ignorance.

Jesus said nothing about Gays, but he did mention that divorce was a sin. So y r they not kicking out the 50% of people who get divorced?

People try quoting leviticus and that is crap. It also says you should stone someone for adultry. What nutjob would agree with that??
Jesus didn't he said in that same situation." he without sin caste the first stone"

DUH!!

You appear to be mixing apples and oranges.

The US Constitution was written by finite, mortal men. The Bible was given to man by the infinite creator of the universe. It's not possible to put them on the same plane.

I wish a politician (lawyer-?) would point that out. I really do not see why anyone cares if they get married or not. They (creationist) already think they're committing a sinful act so I really don't see how getting married is a 'moral' issue. In fact, if they get married, that's less of a 'sin' that sleeping together w/o being married (fornication)
*****
BTW,I agree with you (obviously)
separation of church and state and payment of taxes w/o complete representation

You are right in that America got into war with England due to being taxed while not being represented. Remember that great slogan from the Revolutionary War? "No Taxation Without Representation!" So you are correct. If someone is a law abiding citizen who pays his/her taxes and contributes to society, marriage should not be denied to them. To do so is unconstitutional and blatantly bigoted.

Why did we allow government into marriage at all? It says render to ceaser the things of ceaser, and to YHVH the things that are His! Marriage is an "adhesion contract" among two people and the state, and so the Almighty is left out of it. The Almighty said that various perversions were an abomination to Him. I would like to please him.

well this country was founded on chrstianity and the principles of the bible. now im not against them but i agree on the fact that they shouldnt get married. marriage is suposed to be between a MAN and a WOMAN. if we let them get married we might as well allow the marrying of siblings and the marrying of animals too.

I agree with your perspective, though
I don't know about the facts. There are better ways to argue for gay rights than the approach you take.

>>>gays pay taxes as well>>>

This is supposed to be an argument in favor of gay marriage? It should be allowed because gays pay their taxes?

Gays already have a right to marry. They have the same right to marry a member of the opposite sex that the rest of us do.

Should we also allow bigamy, polygamy, the marrying of siblings, and the marrying of animals too -- on the grounds that these folks also pay their taxes?
