Our marriage has been rocky, but we're trying to work it out with counseling and talking things out. We already have one child. I wanted 4 when we were first married, but he wanted 3, so I said ok, 3 is fine. But soon 3 turned into 2 and now he says our son is enough. He has already gone to his doctor and looked into it (without me knowing) and basically has done everything but get the appointment.
I told him I want more than one child, and he's known that for the 5 years we've been together, but I don't want to force him into something he's not happy with. I KNOW he's not ready for another child, neither am I, but completely ruling out children forever is unthinkable to me. I have goals I want to get out of the way before having #2, and it would be about 3-4 years before I'd be in a position where I wanted to start trying again, but he hates wearing condoms and I have bad reactions to birth control, so he thinks a vasectomy is best. Just get snipped and end it. What should I do?

Have him make a sperm donation at a local sperm bank and freeze it. Then he can have the vasectomy and you have try to have children in 3 to 4 years.

My wife and I had our problems a couple of years after our first, then we worked it out. I was PLENTY happy with 1 child, but my wife wanted more. We waited a couple of years and had another. I was PLENTY happy with my daughter and son, but my wife wanted to keep the door open. We used alternate birth control and years later we had our 3rd and final. During the C-Section my wifes tubes were tied.

There are plenty of birth control options, take advantage of them. See a counselor.

I love ALL of my kids, from my 19 years old to my 4 year old. If I had been snipped when I first thought of it I would have missed a lot.

Have him go to a sperm bank and freeze the sperm for possible future use. Then he can have his vasectomy but not totally rule out any future kids. If you don't use the sperm, you can either have it destroyed or donate for another couple.
