My daughter used to not care what people thought about her .She has now become over sensitive about everything whiny and moody there haven't been grade changes or anything that could be deemed as a worry for other causes .I notice that her sensitivity is worse certain times of the month like she is having pms.

My daughter also just turned 9 and is going through the exact same thing - the moodiness and sensitivity. I honestly believe that they are experiencing some precursor to PMS and menstruation and puberty. Sort of a pre-puberty. I also believe that girls are maturing (entering puberty) at an earlier age than we did. Just know what she's going through is probably normal and speak to your pediatrician if you would like to discuss it further. I plan to do the same. Hang in there!

Ask her if her stomach hurts, if she is having clear liquid coming out of u know where, don't get too into detail just in-case she hasn't yet. I would say 9 was a very hard age for MOST girls. Take her to her doctor if you are really concerned

It is possible. Unfortunately some girls start their cycle as early as 9 yr old. I was 11.. but can remember having cramps all thru age 10. Hope all goes well.. good luck.

She could be showing signs of premature puberty (there's a medical term for it which I've forgotten). If you didn't start puberty that young (or your mother-in-law), then I would be concerned enough to have her checked for any abnormal conditions that might be causing her symptoms. You should have her checked by her doctor in any case.

My daughter started this at around the same age. Puberty is just around the corner!

you bet she can be having PMS, i would put her on a multivitamin with minerals find a good, in a couple of weeks she should be better. be sure you have the TALK with her about changes that are going to happen to her and that her moods are the ground work for her growing up. tell she can talk to you.

It sure could. Be prepared for about 5 years of grief and explosive outbursts!

it could me, but more than likely it's just all that grade school crap that goes on. she hates her and he doesn't like her. no matter how strong a child is, they all care what others think about them at that age.
