You have a bruise and it just happens to be on your hand. If you go to the doctor they are likely to tell you just to keep ice on it and be careful so you don't keep bumping it. There isnt really anything they can do for a bruise.

Ouch! I've done this before, too. The tall bump is called a "hematoma". It's a collection of blood under the skin. Sounds like the vein might have been damaged a bit. When I acccidentely puncture through a vein while starting an IV, a similar bruise occasionally happens. Try applying an ice pack (be sure to wrap it in a towel first to prevent cold injury). You also might want to get that checked out at your doctor's, just to make sure. The vast majority of those injuries (assuming you didn't break anything) heal well.

The bump sounds like bleeding under you skin, so a vein is probably punctured, they usually heal OK but you should still see a doctor anyway to make sure, I can't see your hand so I don't know how bad it is!

You probably just popped the vein in your hand. It will heal but it will hurt for quite a while(2-3 weeks). I do this all the time and don't go to the doctor for it.

It sounds like you may have a blood clot and you might need to have your doctor look at your hand. Sometimes clots will travel up your vein and can cause much bigger problems in your heart. Your arm is almost straight up to the heart. Better to be safe than sorry!

no. you just "busted a blood vessel" as my Grandma would say.
It will hurt like a bruise and look like a bruise for a week or so but it will heal on it's own...it's fine. Don't waste your money .
