I have joined eHarmony which I had no success and I joined Plenty Of Fish and talked with a great guy, but then he had a bunch of excuses and we never went beyond talking. I have been told to go out to different places or join clubs, but I am not sure how to go about doing that. I live in Maryland.

Guy stores are awesome places. By guy stores I mean stores where guys like to hang out, like automotive stores, woodwork stores, places like that.
Also - join clubs. Athletic clubs are great places to meet guys. If you have a dog, walk it in popular dog parks. There is nothing like a dog to meet people.
Volunteer someplace. You will not only be doing good, but you will meet lots of people.
Another way to meet guys - tell your friends you're looking. Friends are a great source to meeting new guys.

Miss Maryland.. finding a guy in a club is easy if you just want sex. If you are looking for someone to build a relationship with then that probably is not the smartest place to look.
First, ask yourself what do you really enjoy doing? Not like a little.. but REALLY like to do with your free time. Whatever that is, that is where you begin. Go to the place that promotes your likes. If that is not possible.. a chat room regarding the subject is a thought.
I have been married twice. The first time was a huge mistake.. for all the wrong reasons.. but I learned alot. The second time, I wanted to be married, but I wasn't looking. I found him in a chat room on yahoo of all places.
So, the other option is to stop looking and let him find you?! Good luck.

I have some ideas! 1) Borrow a club, go to the local golf course, and work on your swing...even if you've never tried before, you might find some studly young man who can give you some free lessons! ;) 2) Get some girlfriends and go into San Francisco--you are in Nor Cal, are you not? Go find the Starlight Room, there are some classy people up there and a nice dance floor. 3) Another place you might like to go is hiking. There are some nice places where you can meet active guys. 4) Finally, a classic: go to the gym. You will find all sorts of fitness minded guys there, and if you find your groove on one of the machines you might catch someone's eye! Hope this helps you, and that you meet some nice guys and go on some fun dates!

What type of guy are you looking for? If it's athletic, maybe try an indoor climbing facility. If it's intellectual, try Borders. A millionaire, go to the local Polo club or Annapolis. BTW, I love those restaurants on the Chesapeake.

Well, sadly, you live too far away to meet me, charming, intelligent, (insert your favorite adjective here).
I suggest if you wanna meet nice guys you might consider joining a service organization or volunteering. Most people who volunteer their time are a bit less self centered than the ones who go party all night with their buddies and bring different women home all the time.

Forget the dating sites sweety.
Guys are all around you. The good ones can be found at the grocery store (has money), the library (has brains) or a laundrymat (can take care of himself).
I never understood how women can't find men.
We are EVERYWHERE! Finding a quality guy is the tough part though. Good luck in your search! 8-)

You really need to think about this. Are you looking for a fling? Or are you looking for husband material? Does this guy take care of himself? Would this guy be able to take care of a family? I would suggest looking at a church you may want to attend at the same time. Those guys have God in their hearts and Godly qualities at hand. That's where I found my husband. Best choice of my life.
