I need to lose about 30 lbs. I'm female - 5'3. I have been doing a in- home walking program for 30 minutes about 3 days a week. For breakfast I'm usually eating a cup of special K cereal. I eat a snack about 9:30 a.m. of fruit, or low-fat sugar free yogurt. For lunch a Lean Cuisine and a small supper. Why has my weight loss come to a hault. Its so frustrating

Seems like you're off to a good start, but you may want to increase the intensity of your workouts.
Please take this in the spirit it was given- 90 minutes of light exercise per week is way too little to achieve major weight loss.
Try to slowly work up to a jogging pace and do this every other day. You must continue to increase the intensity and duration of you workouts or you will stop making progress.
Also, start doing strength training. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn, no matter what you are doing.
Good Luck and don't get discouraged :)

Have your doctor run a blood test on you. Have them test your thyroid especially. Also, get an insulin glucos test. You may go so far as to have them test your hormons, though if you are under 40 getting them to do this might be imposible. However I will mention I was 27 and had been having this type of problem, w/ my weight. I had normal thryoid and normal insulin, finally after begging for ever to have my hormons tested they were. I was right on when they came back as me beeing menaposal so I went to Indiana to see a specialist in the field and she told me this lack of hormon can cause weight issues. I was put on oestrogene and I am less tired and I'm less bloated and my color is back! I have lost a couple pounds, but haven't really been working at it and think if I did I would now beable to loose more, I'll see if I'm right this summer!

Weight usually stagnates for awhile then will start up again. You should eat 5 or 6 small meals a day so that you never feel hungry. IF you feel hungry your body will stop expending calories and start saving them for you to survive as if you CAN NEVER eat again. So try eating more often and maybe add a little more exercise to your days.

I know this may sound weird but maybe you need to eat a little more. I go to weight watchers and was having the same trouble. Apparently if you take in to little cal;ories your body thinks it's straving and hold onto it's fat.Good luck with the weight loss

Watch your salt intake and drink plenty of water. If your weight loss has plateaued try adding a 1/2 pound or 1 pound ankle weights when you walk, or add two or three days of other kinds of physical activity like bike riding, or yoga, or other exercise program. don't quit!!!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!
