While there are certainly ignorant people out there, and there always will be in life, it is up to the more intelligent to continue to provide a good example and rise above the rabble. Of course, we all lose it once in a while (I completely lost it last night), but if the more intelligent participants give in to the peer pressure, it really will become chaos.
I often feel like just giving up the pretense of intelligent discourse, but somebody has to do it, so I usually try.

The point of asking questions in a public forum is to get other peoples opinions. No one is going to agree with every answer given. The point is to have an open mind to others points of view. That is were most of the "problems" are around here. People say what they are thinking and if it isn't what the asker wanted they get all upset. Most people just ask questions to have someone agree with them anyways, they don't really want different opinions.

What is your definition of civilized. As far as I know, no one has killed anyone over a really bad answer. Maybe you are taking things to personally. There are always going to be jerks that will just say things to get a rise out of you, but you need to look past those and find the really good answers in between all of that.

Don't get discouraged by all the ranting and Bible bashing by the God haters on this thread....that' just gives everyone a reason why no one wants to become like them....
.."... for we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, hateful, and hating one another. But after the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteoudness we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,..." (Titus 3:3)

Me. I'm a Muslim and I get it ALL the time. But heck, I don't care. By just being patient it shows that I'm above all these childish things therefore I'm better than others without me actually saying it.
Well usually I don't say it but, heck, same as you sometimes I just want to say it out loud.

I took this board seriously originally but with experience I've adjusted my expectations- I now view it as just a board that has the odd pearl of wisdom in amongst a lot of nonsense.

i have seen your Q&As , they were uncivilized and biased towards others ( according to me)
it is how you judge people matters
everyone is biased , judgemental, narrow minded in one way or another, including you and me
now stop whining and have some fun
hope this helps
(edit):
who said to you, that you are not a fool?
again you are showing the same narrow-minded mentality, don't judge others (becoz you are one of them, in no way better than them)
lol

Religious discussion is hard. It is best to try and keep your own voice in the matter as kind as possible, otherwise you become part of the problem - instead of the solution.

Because if I answer from my own heart....and not from the truth of scripture....then shame on me. My answers have to be biased according to God's Word.
