Three years ago, I would have said yes, big time! But then I was in the hospital for a long time. I got so needles were a regular old thing. But, the best thing is to ask them to use a butterfly needle as skinny as they can. They don't sting as much. I would say close your eyes and don't open them no matter what and talk to the nurse or anyone and you may not even know when it is done.

It is equivelant to getting a shot, only that the needle will be in your vein instead of muscle. It depends on the person drawing the blood also. If they are very good, they can hit the vein in one shot and cause very little pain.
Dont get me wrong, I hate needles, and I have to have a blood test every three months. However, anxiety is the biggest factor in the pain I think, as the procedure is just uncomfortable at worse.

Yes, it'll sting for a second, when the Doctor pokes the needle into your skin. After that it'll hurt just a bit when he gets your blood.

Mine by no potential harm like i assumed they might. It replaced into continually a relief, cuz i replaced into so frightened approximately it. My blood assessments have been painless, the main painless whilst in comparison with the rest concerning a needle. i could desire to experience it in there in the event that they moved it fairly whilst changing the tube or something, yet no longer in a painful way in any respect. that's merely my adventure nonetheless, and believe me once I say it replaced into painless, cuz i'm a form of individuals who rather dread those issues and hate discomfort.

Don't look. Slap the area where the sample will be taken from, hard, just before, and I find it doesn't sting much at all (it desensitises you to a certain extent), and it helps to imagine yourself being far away, doing something you like, closing your eyes can help.

It is over and done with in a flash. It stings for just a second and usually no pain afterwards. Just look away when they are doing it. It seems to hurt worse when you are watching.
Good luck....you will be fine.

It will be fine. I always close my eyes and count slowly in my head. It distracts me from what's going on. Just relax and breathe slowly. It won't hurt. Don't worry. It will be over before you know it.
