Im just curious about this. There is to be an equation that will show you how much weight (equal to the bench press) you are lifting when you do a pushup. Does anyone know how to figure this?

simpler than that, i would put myself into a push up position with my hands on a scale... its not revolutionary, but its prolly the most accurate

Stay away from fast food, junk food, candy, regular pop, ice cream, corned beef hash, chicken or beef pot pies. Use a smaller plate & get used to the idea that you don't have to be full to leave the table. Drink more water. Move around alot (not just when playing sports.) Limit your TV and computer time to 2 hours (max.) a day. Start walking regularly, & try to walk the same distance in a little less time each day. Lift some weights (even if you have to use gallons of water as weights.) Good luck. Now is the time to lose weight...People are prejudiced against obesity.

It depends on where your center of gravity is. I would estimate that a good rule of thumb is about 3/5 to 2/3 your total weight.

Beware of "fat-free" or "zero trans fats" foods as you may be trading fats for huge levels of sugar or sodium.

Chewing your food thoroughly will make digestion easier, but will allow your body time to recognise if it's actually full, thus preventing pigging out.

If you eat when you’re burdened, try munching on pumpkin as well as sunflower seeds. You’ll need for you to chew more, which will dissipate some of that energy, but without introducing calories.

Identify the emotional triggers that make you seek unhealthy comfort food. Picture your goal weight the next time a trigger strikes to allow you to resist temptation.

Chances are you're eating too fast. Try holding a conversation with a meal so you're definitely not gulping down more than you should feel full.
