If you subscribe to the holy scriptures, especially the Bible, then yes. It's mortal sin. If you're like me and you don't buy that bull-****, then no, it's not a sin.
I've said this before many times and I'm going to say it again. No one, and I mean NO ONE, can can question a person's right to end his/her own life. Whether the decision is a right or wrong one is a different matter entirely. Bottom line is, each individual is the sole bearer of responsibility when it comes to determining the continuity of his/her life. Even if society finds it morally wrong or selfish or sinful.

Simply, yes. It is a sin to take your own life. I pray you aren't considering it! Many people argue about just "how bad" a sin this is. To them, I say "judge not...do not pick at the speck in someone else's eye before taking the board out of your own". God will be our judge. I believe every sin we've committed has circumstances leading up to it and everybody's lives take them different places.

If a person who is in such emotional turmoil that he or she cannot be held responsible for his or her actions, then there is no sin.
In order for a sin to be a mortal sin, three conditions must be met:
1. The action must be a very seriously wrong action
2. The person doing the seriously wrong act must know that it is wrong.
3. The person doing the seriously wrong act must do so of their own free will and knowledge.
As stated before, someone who is in emotional turmoil does not satisfy the third condition and therefore, there is no mortal sin.
Please contact me if you need to discuss this very serious issue further.

Yes, it is a sin. It definately is, I think it is forgivable because no one in their right mind would kill themselves, you would have to be some degree of crazy, and I don't think that God would hold an insane person responsible for their act of insanity. We all just need to pray for those going through tough times, and pray that they know God is the answer.

No. Of course not. Suicide usually results when stress and/or depression exceed a persons ability to cope with it. It's tragic. But not sin.

Yes it is a sin to take your own life.
Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being

Only by indirect reasoning of scriptures. I can use the same reasoning to prove that Jesus and some prophets committed suicide. How? Simple. If you go somewhere where you know they are going to kill you. It is the same as suicide. Modern people call it suicide by cop.

This is a christian quagmire........does God forgive this?
This is just as forgiveable as adultery and every other sin......
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness"
Once you are in Christ......you're saved. This doesn't mean we can go on wilfully sinning without consequence....but we are saved no matter what.
So to answer your question.....yes.....it's my bet that it's a sin....but a forgiveable one.
