Leave them alone and let the parents get on with it . the more you interfere the less chance that mum will go and feed the chicks.

She will feed them, but you need to make sure you have more then enough food available for her to do the job. AND then you need to leave her alone to do it! I don't know how many feed cups you have but shallow is better then deep and there should be at least 3. One or two for seed/pellet; checked daily and one for fresh food which is changed twice daily. Also you should have grit available for the canary, as they digest their food in their stomach and the grit helps them achieve that end. For fresh food, I would hard boil an egg, cool it off to room temperature and then smash it; shell and all; then give half of it to the mother in the fresh food dish, refrig left overs (feed balance at room temperature and within 1 day) Check this in the am and pm, and replace as necessary. You can also clip (use plastic clothespin) fresh spinach, carrots, apples to the side of the cage, next to a perch where it is easy for the canary to access the food. The father will feed the mother, the mother will feed the chicks. ALSo - make sure they have clean - fresh water available at all times! Good luck

Dont worry, she will take care of them. Sometimes it takes a bit for the mom to get the idea. Be sure to feed her extremely well. I would suggest giving her hard boiled egg, perhaps mixed with corn bread. You can buy commercial nesting food, but my birds always per She needs extra protein. Good luck!
