If you tell a friend that you think you guys should go out on a date to see if there is anything there and he replies back with "A relationship with us would be kinda hard because of distance." (we are two states from each other right now) - does that mean that he has interest, but is not interested in long distance relationships?

i think that was a nice way of saying "i don't like you like that." if he was really into you, then distance would not be an issue; he'd be willing to try and make it work. move on.

It depends, not to sound bad but it's an easy cop-out for a guy saying he's not interested by blaming it on distance and not that he just doesn't feel that way about you or whatever.

I would ask and put them on the spot, ask if you two were closer if things would be different and if he'd be more open to you two dating and consider it. Let him know you're very serious and if he's not interested that you'd prefer to hear it now than have potential expectations when he isn't actually interested at all.

I think if he truly cares as a friend he'll be ballsy enough to say yes there's a chance or no it just won't work and not try to keep the door open and use the distance excuse.

long distant relationships r very hard, i was in one. if u want a relationship go out with someone that is close to u, as in the same state. long distant relationships can ruin a friendship the same way u can ruin a friendship if u were to go out with someone that uve known for a long time as a friend. hes probably not interested but doesn't want to hurt ur feelings. not trying to be mean, but thats how guys r. they'll say its for one reason when its really for another. i say just stay friends with him and if anything happens then it happens. hang out face to face, whatever, but dont rush anything. u live two states away, u have no controll on what he's doing, the only thing u know is what he tells u. i'd be very careful. stay friends and look around ur area for someone to be more than friends with.

It could mean either. Doesn't sound like he gave you much information to go on. He could either be not interested and just using that as an excuse, or interested but not interested enough to pursue long distance.

Maybe he just knows that long distance relationships hardly ever last so he dosen't want to get one started in the first place.

Even though he may have an interest. I don't think long distance relationships work out..............I've never heard otherwise! For it to work I think is someone has to move....
