I have purchased an inexpensive lollipop mold from Target, it is metal but not real solid. Can I crush hard candy such as cinnamon disks and melt on top of the stove and pour into the molds? I do not have a candy thermomather and wanted to do this the fastest way.

Making lollipops is a real science and there is not a quick way to do it. As far as I have found, you really should not use pre-made candies to make lollipops. Here is why: Lollipops (and other hard candies) and are members of a special group of solids called amorphous solids—along with stuff like rubber, plastic, wood, and living tissue. Amorphous solids are true to their name: Their atoms aren’t arranged in an orderly pattern.
The lack of long-range order in the atoms of a lollipop is a good thing. It means that when you bite it, it will break easily into small pieces. If the atoms were arranged in an orderly, crystalline structure, the candy would be rock hard.
This process can only happen well once. If you melted down the hard candy, you will disrupt the atom structure and you will end up with rock hard lollipops.

You can try to make the candy melt but. Chocolate would have been alot easier and quicker. Just melt it (in the microwave) and pour it into the mold. (if your trien to do red for valentines day the craft store has red choclate).. Thats your best bet.
