Well, without any information on the actual behavior (is he potty trained? Chewing on things? Running off? Biting folks?) I can say a few things....

First, make sure he has toys to chew on. Whenever he chews on something he can't chew on, say NO! firmly and hand him his chew toy. Play with him with the toy often. Get a meat scented toy if possible, or a KONG filled with dog treats.

If he is jumping up, use your knees to push him down and say NO! Then teach him to sit. Whenever he sits near you, say Good dog! And love on him.

If he is running around, knocking things over, being a nutty dog...there is no way around this. It takes time. Labs especially. They are the BEST BEST BEST dogs, so loving, they love to retrieve and play. But until they are 2 or 3, they are crazy with energy.

DO play fetch. You will see how these dogs LOVE and are BORN to retrieve. Get a CHUCK IT from the pet stores or ebay. They come with a tennis ball, you chuck the ball, they bring it back. You use the chuck it to pick up the messy ball, lol. This will wear your dog out, give him the attention he needs and the retrieving his body craves.

What exactly do you mean when you say your dog's naughty ?What does he do to earn that title? Get some books or DVDs by Ceasar Milan- the Dog Whisperer. He's been on Oprah several times and has some great obedience techniques.
Do you think you dog acts naughty due to anxiety?? If so then you definately need to do something quick, coz you don't want your dog to go thru that torture, and besides you're ruining a great dog due to ignorance. Please do something soon.

Dogs aren't born naughty....you probably didn't take time to train him...Golden's are one of the easiest dogs to train...buy a book from the book store or go to a professional...they are great dogs,,most bad dogs have bad owners sorry but true!

Well, we kinda need more info. What is he doing? Maybe you should take him to obedience school to learn how to control your dog better and it will teach him better manners.

Give him another year! He will grow up. He is still a baby and is learning. Be consistant with him.
