Yes I met my present partner of 7 years by internet dating and she is wonderful.

How long would you have to stand in your local bar before a potential partner walked in the door?.... about 15 million years. Internet dating is the ONLY way to meet new people nowadays.

Okay they are not all perfect and only a naive person would be looking for someone who is 100% perfect anyway. That would be absurd. But someone who is 80 or 90% perfect can be wonderful too. We are all of us, only human.

I would agree that there are some very strange people out there and this can present a difficulty. You have to rely on your intuition. But it can be a LOT of fun meeting people and you are unlikely to meet the perfect partner on a first date anyway. I mean, when you are looking to buy a house you don't buy the first house you look at, do you.

It's not something I have tried myself. However, my husband's apprentice did a bit of online dating/chatting etc which we thought dodgy as anything until he met "the one". After a couple of daytime meetings, going for walks etc, he has now been dating her for about 8 months and going from strength to strength. She's lovely too - very "normal". Another local to us has just announced that he's met someone special through this method and is beginning a relationship too. I guess it must work for some people - especially younger people for whom this is becoming the norm. Hope this helps! PS. we live in a rural part of the country so I think this makes internet dating more attractive still.

I met my boyfriend Eddie on a dating site 2 1/2 years ago. I love him with all my heart and couldn't imagine life without him.
BUT there are guys on those sites that aren't telling the truth. Married or in a relationship-you have to be very careful, ask a lot of questions, pay attention to detail-and if you have any doubts, look elsewhere.

In fact with Internet Dating, I would say you are "more" likely to meet Mr Right, as you will have a fair idea of their likes/dislikes and vice versa.

If you relied on meeting someone by chance you would more than likely find them not really to be what they say they are. And don't even think about meeting someone "right in a nightclub/bar setting - they often turn out to be the worst.
