Try living in Canda. It is orse here thank to the Liberal governments of past years. Even the criminals have more rights and freedoms. To top it off all there legal fees are tax funded while the victim has to fork it out themselves.
As an example there is a case where a Syrian born enginner, Arar, was accuseed of being connected to terrorist groups in Syria. A know terrorist funding country. He was detained in the US and deprted back to Syria on RCMP information he is a security threat. He claims he was tortured there. A joke really, a terrorist nation torturing a terrorsit. After investigation and court caseshe has been awarded $10 million for his pain and suffering and another $2 million for his legal costs. He is still on the highalert list in the US and Canada. Now in another story, a murder suspect for a killing over 40 years ago is getting a new trail. The suspect was 14 at the time of his arrest, found guilty and was sentenced to hang. He was sparred and sent to jail for life. He has held strong he is inocent and has been fighting for a new trail since arrested and charged. There is evidence he was forced to admit to the murder by the police wanting to have a conviction. No evience ever existed now. When he is ound innocent what payoff should he recieve... How much should he get for the time he has spent in jail. Way freaking more than $10 million but because he is not, dare we say a minority, he will probably get nothing.

Well this is Britain and we like to do things different here ! Just make you wonder why anyone would bother to report a crime like that, and then end up being charged with kidnapping and assault, he would have done better to have taken him somewhere nice a quite and kick the **** out of him, The little scrote may have understood that much better. What a sad place we live in now ! But what really annoys me is the fact the police took no notice of his complaints, and he made plenty of them, so if the police wont act, they cant blame the public for taking the law into their own hands !!!

The problem is that "human rights" - usually as defined by European regulations (not laws!) have become a new religion with people recruited to work in public authorities. Like many religions it is followed blindly and without common sense. The "human rights" of victims is not recognised - only the "rights" of those in risk of being punished for their offences. The European Union could be an excellent thing - but it drastically needs reform. Not the least needed reform is some mechanism that gets practical people with experience of normal life into positions of authority in place of the idealistic academics and political philosophers who control matters at present. Otherwise the present set of institutions will be overthrown by an exasperated public in many, if not all, member states.

I think there may be a few answers to this, whic you have some good ones already. It starts in our schools. There isn't any discipline anymore. My wife works in a school as a learning mentor. In my day you daren't be disrespectful to a teacher as you would end up getting caned or slippered. They can't do that now so a child tells a teacher to F off and he gets suspended. Great, he gets some time off. My wife deals with suspending the students and has meetings with the parents. In some cases the parents can't do anything with the student, particularly where there is onlt one parent, and they expect the school to sort it out. The student then leaves and can't handle the discipline in the workplace. No job, no money leads to crime. The person gets caught, has no money, can't pay the fine. Prisons are over full. Get off with a caution or community service. People like me get a £75 fine for dropping a cig end because I can afford to pay it.

Yes, mine. too. It not only happens in the U.K., but the U.S. You would not believe the number of murderers and the like who are coddled by the "justice" system, and the victims/ victim's family suffer for the rest of their lives. Look at this female astonaut who was arrested for attempted murder a couple of days ago, she was let out on a $25,000 bond. When bond is made, the criminal only has to come up with 10% of that to be free. So, she onlly had to come up with $2, 500, voila, she is out. Can you just imagine how the victim feels? Criminals in the U.S. have ALL of the rights, victims are stripped of theirs.Blood boil? YES!

The answer to these bastards walking out of the courts giving the V sign to the police and laughing at them is to get tough and by that i mean birch the gits. They are the lowest form of life on the planet followed closely by the law makers who continuously let these pigs off with no real punishment. Wake up the British tax payer these animals are costing you quite a penny

The western world practises a so-called perfect legal system to provide full legal laws to protect everyone when faced with any prosecution, it is also supported by human rights activitist who advocates full fair trial to all. Without any concrete evidence to prosecute the law breakers, these criminals just simply go free as if they are the one needed to be protected instead. A perfect system that go awry, it make a perfect mockery out of the western legal system , a practices wrongly applied without full responsibility to the agony of the victim, a betrayal in the name of laws.and deserve no pity if rely too heavily on these system ,it is your wrong undoing. And these lawyers are un-abashly proud about their ability to protect these criminals ( they don't regard them as criminals but regard them as prosecution cases that they have succeeded in their defences)

I could not agree with you more, Mr Question Man. YOU know how to behave and I know how to behave but there are just some people, who have NOTHING to do with me or you, although they usually live JUST A FEW DOORS AWAY on your street, who just don't understand how to behave at all and REFUSE to live decent lives like WE ALL KNOW they should. We are talking about BASIC STANDARDS that are SO OBVIOUSLY CORRECT that nobody can ignore them, so what do think they are doing? If they will not grant people the COMMON COURTESY of behaving like we do then there really is NO ALTERNATIVE but to DEFEND OURSELVES WITH EVERY MEANS AVAILABLE until they are either sufficiently repentant or permanently removed from our society. We SIMPLY MUST NOT allow them to hide behind their basic human rights while they continue to offend the very ideas that I'm sure you and I can agree represent decent community values.

I've given up watching the news, I've seen far too many stories about hit and run drivers that kill little kids that get a £300 fine. I don't understand how they can get it so wrong, I'm really loosing faith in mankind.
