In general terms, the use of the word "rapture" implies that someone is "taken up" away from earth. They do not die but instead are "elevated" to another level. If you believe the Bible is true, the first rapture would have been Enoch. Enoch, it was said, "walked with God" and was "taken up". The 2nd time this kind of activity is mentioned is that of Elijah the prophet. He was "taken up" in a chariot of fire (very dramatic indeed!). The belief amoung modern Christians is that they too will be raptured at some point but regardless of whether they are dead or alive at the time. But, the description in Revelation is vague. It only says that they will "meet the Lord in the air".

Another possible rapture was that of John the disciple. Jesus may have said that John would never die (this is a little unclear) and so it's possible that John was also "raptured". The term "rapture" is not used in the Bible but seems to describe the process.

The first ressurrection is in 3 steps, When Jesus rose from the grave the bible says & the Graves were open, who is these other graves, Saints of the OT, & then the 2nd phase of the 1st ressurrection is When the Dead in Christ shall rise first, & the 3rd phase is those people that gave their life for their testimony of Jesus Christ & the word of God, Both Jews & Gentiles, that did not go in the rapture, they will still be there in the milliennium, the only thing that goes in the rapture is the Bride. These others are foolish virgins, Then you have the 2nd ressurrection after the Milliennium, That is for the wicked.

Those who support the Rapture point to Daniel 7 as a reference to the Rapture, though not in depth; Matthew 24 is the one they claim is the earliest definite description of the Rapture.

The rapture is not a Bible teaching; the closest thing to it is really the exact opposite, found in Proverbs 2:21, 22 -
"For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it."

Probably Revelations, but actually the word 'rapture' is never mentioned in the bible. That was a term invented by outside sources.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:16

because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. 17 Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with [the] Lord. 18 Consequently keep comforting one another with these words.

Then in Revelation 7 is the 2nd Rapture which is 3 and half years into the Tribulation.

There is no "RAPTURE"

"End Times"..........no one knows when and I think it's sad that so many are focused on this "rapture" thing when all should just be walking in the way of the Lord and following his commandments.
Enjoy life that God gave you and walk in his ways.
Peace be with you.

The Apocalypse Of Saint John
Chapter 22
16 I Jesus have sent my angel, to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and stock of David, the bright and morning star. 17 And the spirit and the bride say: Come. And he that heareth, let him say: Come. And he that thirsteth, let him come: and he that will, let him take the water of life, freely. 18 For I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues written in this book. 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book. 20 He that giveth testimony of these things, saith, Surely I come quickly: Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

the word rapture is only used once and i don't remember where. it means to be caught up suddenly, but don't get to excited all of us Christian will have to endure the Tribulation. that is how God will be able to see who is truly his people. the ones who die rather than give up their faith and those that manage to live through it and hold on to their faith.after it is over then he will for lack of a better word rapture us.

Happy and Holy are those who take part in the first resurrection, over them the second death has no power. Also, in Revelation, God tells the two witnesses to come up hither, or they get called to the throne of God. Notice, there is only two, not a numberless group.

It does NOT! All the dead rest in graves until the resurrection! "The Rapture" is a lie begun about 150 years ago, and having no substantial basis in Scripture!
