The difference is that a person w/ a delusional order has delusions that seem real; while being a Christian, one may never have a delusion and only count on faith. If Christians were delusional, there would be a lot of crazy people (not saying some are not) out there and the religion would not have lasted this long.
Hope that makes sense!

Real delusional people have no doubts or second thoughts about their delusions. it is very unpleasant to see these kind of people. I can't say for sure whether ur friend is delusional. if this is a metaphor or analogy for religious people, then its still true. not everyone that believes in god REALLY believes in god. Its just sort of a hope they hold on to to get through life. faith is essentially hope. edit: perhaps it is a delusion that people need to get through life, knowing they are doomed. the knowledge of our own mortality is deeply unpleasant. edit: real delusional people cannot be reasoned with, they cannot function like the average person. there brain chemistry is different. its a really hopeless type of illness that literally changes your brain. a schizophrenic brain is different than a regular brain. The difference between the average religious person and a delusional person is, that the delusional person is absolutely certain of his/her beliefs, to the core, they have a deformity in their brain structure. the religious person has choice, the deluded person does not .

When most of a population shares the same pathology, it often goes undiagnosed as a medical condition. As we learn more about genetics and the bio-chemistry of the human brain, we will identity the source of our instinct to alter reality (get high), of which religiosity is just one manifestation.
Think about it. As soon as a human infant learns to stand, the first thing it does is - spin in circles until it becomes dizzy and falls down.
The second thing a human infant does is - get up, start spinning in circles again until it becomes dizzy and falls down, again.
Once the brain is scrambled, it is susceptible to the God-conditioning practices of the older adults in its environment. In this way, human learns to retain the same dizzying sensation in the brain without having to spend all their time spinning in circles.
Once you know the cause of an illness, identifying the cure is just a matter of time.

I'm not positive, but I think you just proved the questioner's point.

Why ask a question when yr whole aim is to mock? Difference being a (personal) divine intervention and experience, one that cannot be completely explained as its supernatural...we do not place ourselves above any individual, as a matter of fact, we are here to serve others in His name. Our power is not ours, but His, our knowledge is gifted from Him, our identity is in and through Him, our relationship with Him is our conscious decision, and yes, we love Him with all that we are/have. you too will be given a choice 1 day, I will pray for you that when that day comes, you will be wise enough, and have the knowledge that he chose to hang on the cross for you, died for you that you may have eternity with Him. thank you for giving me the opportunity to glorify my KING ;)

Christians are a work in progress... a deluded person is a piece of work
there is no fruit of salvation in the live of the delusional one... the love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness or self control are not growing as you would expect of a work in progress
there is not a work of God causing them to 'die to themselves' such as their bad traits and live to God and no apparent hunger for God;s word
or desire to fellowship with other Christians

Being christian is a choice made by the individual. Having a disorder is something that "happens" to people without choice.
Delusion vs. Faith/Belief ?? Please.
