It's a bit strange that this question is in the L.A. travel section.
That said, let's answer the question. While I really don't see any true "advantages", there are three main reasons people start doing meth. One is that some find it gives them a pleasant high. Another is that it is a powerful stimulant. It allows people to stay awake and get work done when they otherwise would be sleeping. Finally, it's cheap--doing meth costs a lot less than doing many other drugs. Any advantages, though, are more than outweighed by the fact that meth is one of the most addictive drugs there is. Once people start it, they're almost instantly addicted. Almost everyone who does meth wants to stop, but can't.

Advantages--you live a bit longer than if you just straight put a gun to your head and it is a much quieter form of suicide than a gun (which the neighbors will appreciate).
Disadvantages--much more expensive than a bullet.
Can't you put this question in the Iowa section or something we are pretty sophisticated here in California and learned this 20 years ago. It's your turn now.
