What is a good product to help protect your hair from "frying" while using a flat iron? I have straight hair, but after I blow dry my hair the ends need to be flat-ironed and I flat iron a few of my wispy bangs. I just need a product that will be good and help protect my hair while straight ironing. Thanks!!

VO5 Miracle Mist in the red bottle with a trigger spray at your drugstore or grocery store. It's really cheap, alcohol-free, smells good, and protects your hair and helps it stay smooth longer. I have tried a lot of products, mass-market and salon, for flat-ironing. Most of them have alcohol denat, which is basically rubbing alcohol, as the main ingredient - it makes your hair smooth and shiny during use but it's drying and dulling over time and will contribute to split ends. The Miracle Mist can be used on wet or dry hair - I use it as an all-over detangler and leave-in conditioner before blow drying and then as a protecting spray on sections before flat-ironing. It's good stuff and usually costs less than $3.

Straight from the Salon
An amazing breakthrough in technology lets you smooth curls, tame frizz, blow-dry hair straight. Get hair sensuously sleek! Unique patented formulas work together to help transform curly, frizzy, dry or coarse hair into a salon-smooth style.

Step 3- Smooth

Iron Smoother
• Protects against heat damage – up to 450°F
• Style memory locks in the sleek look
• Seals in a hi-shine finish

Professional Stylist Tip
For maximum thermal protection, spray Sleek.look Iron Smoother on sections of hair starting in the nape and comb through. Make small partings no wider than the size of the iron itself.
• Apply flat-iron to each section while moving continuously down the hair shaft.
• Make sure you work with an iron that has a temperature control.
• Fine or color-treated hair needs to be pressed at lower temperatures, while the flat-iron needs to be hotter to press coarse or curly hair

Matrix Expert Tip:
“Many flat iron users commonly assume that serums or other styling products offer heat protection to their hair. While they may add shine, serums do not provide a shield from high temperatures that can leave hair brittle and broken,” explained Paul Smith, Matrix Vice President of Education. “New Sleek.look Iron Smoother offers a unique mix of styling polymers to help protect hair from heated appliances, plus silicone for shine and panthenol to strengthen and condition.”

Matrix sleek styles.. It's in an orange bottle. They have a whole line just for straight hair. If you wanna skip the shampoo and conditioner its ok (they have extra moisturizers to repair the damage from the heat) but the small spray bottle it great (cant think of the exact name) Just spray on dry hair and flat iron. Makes it shine and everything.

Thermasilk products are good for that.
You could actually use the Thermasilk shampoo and conditioner, and you won't need an additional product to put on while you flat iron.
You could also try a light styling spray by Pantene. I can't recall the name right now, but it's for frizz control and it says 'light' on the bottle.
Hope this helped ya and wish you the best!

wet to straigh and protect to shineare two very good straight irons from very reputable hair care compnay "remington"try and use them always use on a small section first then try to fix the tempreture acourding to your need there is one good tip always use put a white tissue paper for a few seconds in the iron when its hot if the paper turn yellow it means that your iron is really hot for your hair .always make small sections of your hair and try to iron the underneath hairs first and make sure that hairs are not wet they may be dry or allitle damp but never ever wet
